Obviously they think they can make money from the LWP, the question is how much? I hope more details are forthcoming when JMK issues his plans towards the end of the month. My understanding from what Leon has said recently is that they only plan to upgrade the material to a higher grade concentrate and then it will be processed by the 3rd party company, who already have refining capacity in place.

It might help if we knew what kind of average grades are present at the LWP and how economic it is to process, what kind of margin can we expect? Konkola Deeps has average grades of around 2-4% copper which is why Vedanta is desperate to hang onto it despite not having the money to develop it.

Dorfan, if you are talking about that report on KCM then no I don't think it's directly relevant to Jubilee. There was some speculation that the party Jubilee were looking to do a deal with on the LWP might be KCM because that waste dump used to belong to them and was part of their operations at Nchanga but given the poor state of their facilities I doubt that is the case. I've got my suspicions as to who the other party might be for the LWP deal but not going to say anything on that yet.

I believe when Vedanta were given back control of KCM there were clauses in place that if they didn't fulfill their obligations to invest US$1.5b into the mine it would be taken away from them... I wouldn't be surprised if some big money player like IRH or Kobold Metals came in and took it over.

HarmProf... you incorrectly and maliciously stated that there is an ongoing drought. This is not true. There was a drought. There has since been a very heavy rainy season. There may be another drought at some point in the future but you cannot predict when that will be.

Apparently due diligence is now just asking a question to a chat bot and copying and pasting the results. Try and change to a different AI model and you are likely to get an entirely different response. I fear for the future when people are happy to take this stuff as fact without questioning it.

Gotreal, there was a license holder not far from Roan called Phoenix Copper but it looks like that license is no longer listed in the Cadastre so it may have been transferred to someone else. I'm assuming that was what was being fed into Roan before they moved to the higher grade feed but I don't know if thats true or not.

Northern I'm not sure they have ownership of the company because they negotiated a 65% (from memory) ownership of Project G so that wouldn't make sense. Maybe a JV structure with Grovenor as the local company owning the licenses and Jubilee as the majority owner conditional on paying for drilling etc., a pretty standard agreement for exploration projects.

Hi Northern, I noticed that Grovenor Resources has acquired exploration rights on those two licenses too, as well as some others up in NW province. I wasn't sure if they had done that independently of Jubilee, just hoping to get another JV with them, but Leon saying that they had secured 2 exploration licenses seems to suggest they are involved in that. Interestingly there has been some artisanal mining just south of those new licenses ( less than 1km away) so plenty of potential there.

It's not clear if this is a change in strategy to explore near Munkoyo (possibly based on initial drilling?) rather than buy established small scale mines or if this is in addition to adding other mines.

He's just bought his shares back... don't worry this is a regular thing, you'll get used to it!
