Or the fear of losing power.Hugo chavez did a lot for the venezuelan people,madura is a different case I think.but venezuela has been running the gauntlet with america and unfortunately now paying the price.of course there was a long period when ortega wasnt in power but once in for a second time he has tried to make sure that he keeps hold of power.although he has changed his policies to be fairly us friendly unlike venezuela which may not endear him to many of the original sandinistas. Yes you only need to look at the parlous state of gb media. Debateable that it is information tbh but noticeable how far removed from most other reports it is. Personally I like the idea of socialist gvnts progressing social issues like education,health and social justice in the face of us undermining.unfortunately venezuala is crumbling financially with many human rights abuses and election manipulation reported. and ortega is far from a socialist hero now it would seem. you posted the link so what do you Take from it ? I still hold shares in cnr.the amount I am currently prepared to risk.i have never de ramped cnr quite the opposite ,always been happy to see the positive in a dropping sp when most were complaining.this is a different scenario.i think mc has taken fast ,prudent action that makes a mockery of some of the posting here 3 weeks ago. I think it is important to have the truth to be able to make an informed judgement on investment.the telesur link recently posted I fear is quite misleading propaganda .not sure what our nica contingent think. We have posts on here saying protests are quieting down.posts equating them to day out in london protests and posts saying that there is no support outside of the cities ,yet there are roadblocks causing transport nightmares.this will not protect an investment I am afraid any more than posting about the political state will destroy it.it is the situation on the ground and clarity which will dictate the share price.and of course our permits and pc. Time will tell.personally I am ok with my present level of risk.I have since sold what I rebought at 41 and 43 for a slight loss.i suspect we may have further to fall yet possibly so may rebuy .good luck all with your strategies and good luck nicaragua .I hope there is fairness and no downward spiral.

It didnt take much reading of that article to realise that it was propaganda rather than news.well time will tell.I just hope that nicaragua doesnt descend into further turmoil .I have been reading a bit of a different story from various sources.costa rica claiming problems transporting through nic.road blocks ,demonstrations across the country. National agrarian university attacked breaking the truce yesterday.as regards credible alternative,you have a point especially as opponents have been removed from running previously.the eu stopped aid because of manipulation of the democratic process I believe.amnesty and the un are critical .not fake news. None of this may cause the toppling of ortega or create a long term problem for cnr.we dont know but the situation is a whole lot different to nicaragua the politically stable country and increases risk considerably as shown by mc's prudent actions recently.the share price has held up very well considering.only the same level as a couple of months ago ,pre protests. All we can do is monitor the news and company news and make our own decisions .

Dpg,that link is a good example of why people are protesting.state owned media.you only need to wikipedia telesur to see that it is state funded by venezuela nicaragua and cuba.ortega has control of much of the media in nicaragua and the free media had problems broadcasting during the problems.bit like tass.
