RE: Syria and Mexico7 Oct 2018 23:44
Aguila,a far better comparison would be palestine, more casualties in nicaragua since april, protests banned, arbitrary arrests etc.although zimbabwe under leftist (debateable) authoritarian leader, arranging its constitution to allow infinite powers with direct control of the army, police etc would also suffice.
The 277 figure is out of date but obviously specific numbers will never be agreed.numerous human rights groups are more reliable than nicaragua gvnt releases.I have posted an article about the fled parents of a murdered policeman, murdered by his own side because he couldn't bring himself to carry out his orders.
Mexico is a much larger country with a longer history of international large scale miners operating.much more clout ,although it will be interesting to see how Obrador gets on in mexico.Hopefully he shows ortega and madura real democratic socialismo. In the eighties ortegas gvnt were responsible for major misapropriation of businesses as in venezuela.oxus had its assets seized in uzbekistan, churchill.cnr el salvador asset lost.single project miners are much more vulnerable so higher risk.ortega may well see out his term and but nicaragua may well resemble venezuela by then.
Usually as in cnr case situations arise around projects.not many investors go to a problem area specifically.investors can limit their risk much easier than an explorer who already has invested.
Nicaragua has a population of 6 m already around 35 k people have applied for assylum in c rica alone.
You cannot compare randgold or fresnillo with their range of projects and backing to cnr.that is more ridiculous than comparing nica to Syria
Well lets wait for news on funding for bfs,or a 10 per cent investment. As wg said recently, omi has done well since its newmont investment.
