FTSE12 - I follow the same "contrarian" policy but disappointed of late with DEB and TCG - not a lot of life in the SPs and the market mafia pushed the spread on DEB up to 10% last week so we need to be cautious about when to sell !

Lots of headroom on the SP to bounce back - next week should see at least a 10% rise.

A welcome boost to almost all major shares and SM world wide yesterday as Mr Xi says that China will buy an extra trillion dollars of US exports - but is this just another dead cat bounce as the markets move on and forget Mr Xi's promises ? Only time will tell.

members - a life long friend of mine was a big exec in several major oil companies and he has provided me with lots of general knowledge (no insider information unfortunately) Overall the chances of hitting a major oil find are very slim and the chances of trouble free development and sales even slimmer. The BOD has done an excellent job on Catcher and other sites with the exception of Solan - Solan 2 I think was capped and abandoned and Sea Lion is an albatross around the BOD's neck - we will never have the billions of dollars to make Sea Lion commercial and the deep water wells and hostile weather and hostile Argentinians and her South American allies are putting off the major oilies from buying in - plus the fact that Sea Lion oil will cost $45 a barrel to produce - so if oil goes back down to about $30 - endex for SL. I think most of the huge drops in SP are outwith the control of our BOD - looking at all the other big companies across the market (not just oil) most of them are down 15% to 90% (DEB TCG etc) Having been in management positions in my working life I sympathise with BOD problems - I doubt if any other oil BODS could have done better with the PMO problems.

The whole market is a big gamble now but buying PMO at 50% discount to its last year high must be a good deal IMO

members - If i remember rightly Solan is a deep water well that relies on a naturally fractured basement to generate oil and half of the development has been a failure whilst the other half has had on going problems which held up production for quite some time. Zama is a shallow water well on a known prolific oil reservoir in usually fairly benign weather area so drilling is much easier and results are much quicker. Zama 2 spudded at end November so we should be getting results end January or early February - we know that there is masses of oil in a mega reservoir but the BOD is now trying to appraise how much and how soon the oil will be produced and sold. A recent RNS said "information soon" so it could come at any time. I am sure the BOD will be keen to rush out good news to boost the SP as they keep telling us that "shareholder value" is a very important target for them

Frank - probably filling big orders - the spread has now closed up to 0.33% so we may well open up tomorrow - at these levels even a tiny change in SP can rocket the profits upwards

Sergio bought 1.192 million shares on 8 November at 8.3p - I guess he is wary now of any further share buying !

JC - I hope so - being a penny share the gain will be enormous when the market mafia finally release the SP - 5 days ago we were at 5p - so that is about a 70% profit on today's 3p level. I am thinking that about 5p is a reasonable SP to settle on whilst the turmoil - world wide trade war - BREXIT - Austerity and the highest total tax rate since WW2 - sorts itself out. The Tories have doubled our National Debt now from £900 billion (legacy of Labour) to £1800 billion now - and our hopeless PM says that the Tories are the party of low tax and sound finance !!! Mrs May is obsessed with holding onto power and she cares nothing about Joe Public or even her own MPs No sensible deal can be done until she is sacked.
