Short selling - even more so "naked trading" - is just legalised theft and using shares borrowed from brokers to stab honest investors in the back is pure evil - but no politician or toothless financial watchdog is going to do anything about it because the State makes too much profit from the share trading

I was born in 1945 - so I grew up in the UK when there were no really fat people around - unless you were rich and famous like Churchill ! The govt now intends to tax steak - have they seen the price of steak already - you can get a mortgage on a couple of kilos of steak ! But I am glad that the MPs have 27 alcohol bars and 30 restaurants in the HoP - all subsidised by tax payers - and many MPs refuse to pay their bar bills and these are then written off ! Time we got Oliver Cromwell back to close down Parliament - Mystic May wants Marshal Law in the UK - pity she sacked 20 thousand coppers and 30 thousand Armed Forces personnel - perhaps she should be given a riot stick then she can defend her own No 10 Downers Street

shorting - 20 continuous sells of 20K shares at a time to drive down the SP and it has worked very well for the shorter ! Just legalised theft IMO

Now might be a good time for what is left of the BOD to say something positive to boost the SP - or maybe MA will make a move to buy the company - any reasonable offer would boost the SP. All we can do now is hold tight and hope for a recovery - DEB SP has been on the slide now continuously from 95p in 2015 to 3p now. The company MUST have some sort of value - 3p is ridiculous

At this very low SP any good news in a RNS will send the SP racing upwards. Reminds me of the time a couple of years back when I saw UKOG oil company shares at about 2p - as a gamble I bought £20k worth and soon afterwards sold them at 8p - the SP hit 11p but is now down at below 2p again - pure luck to be in the right place at the right time - hopefully my DEB shares can get back to 6p or 9p soon and history repeats itself again !

Simon - look up Democracy in your dictionary - rule by the People ! It just shows the contempt that MPs have for voters ! Looks like we all agree on the Vote at this 11th hour - hopefully MPs will take the pragmatic course of action and cancel Article 50 with a promise to Leavers that it will be re-instated if we get no fair treatment from the EU commissars - bonus is a saving of £39 billion - to be spent on the NHS - roads - schools etc and we get to elect 73 MEPs in the month of May - they can then act like rowdy football supporters to bring down the EU - which is effectively the 4th German Reich - the German Foreign Minister said last year "What Germany failed to do in 1914 and 1939 by military force we have now achieved by political force !"

Nemesis follows closely on the heels of Hubris - the Germans are finding out now - Germany going into Recession - France ablaze - Italy in revolt etc

davey - I like your style - £16 this week would be great - but no telling what the market will make of the Tuesday vote - hopefully they expect the worst - and this is priced into SPs - so anything better will boost SPs

Mrs may is deliberately misleading the public - her plan is NOT a trade deal - just paying the EU dictators £39 billion for the right to leave the EU - no promise of even discussions on a fair Trade Deal. No wonder the terrible trio - Barnier Tusk and Junkers were delighted - they get £49 billion of UK taxpayers money and give NOTHING in return. If our MPs vote for Mrs May's plan we will be locked into the EU rules with no power to influence anything and no legal way of getting a clean BREXIT. I voted leave but if the choice now is May's terrible plan or cancelling Article 50 and remaining in the EU till it collapses - possibly in 2019 - I will vote for REMAIN

The elephant in the room will be the BREXIT vote tomorrow - first reaction will be the Dow Jones USA - if it is red then the far East will reflect that reaction followed by the FTSE on opening. There may well be a big crash in SPs on Wednesday - however - if the markets react favourably to the BREXIT vote then we may well see another good SP rally. Of interest was the across the board miners gaining up to 9% on Friday in reaction to a possible agreement between Trump and China and the ending of the Public Sector US shutdown. Lots of other company and central bank news this week so a volatile week looks to be on the cards. Hopefully MTRO SP will recover a bit but the damage has been done on possible $9 billion exposure to "sub prime" mortgages - again ! - a repeat of 2008 - will they never learn ?

The SM now is just a matter of luck - if you are holding golden shares when they rocket up or lead shares when they rocket down

The crunch point for the market will be Wednesday - after the yes or no MPs vote on Tuesday - unless May cancels it again - interesting that May now sees herself as a second Oliver Cromwell ruling UK by martial law - I wonder if anyone has told her that our total manpower in the Armed Forces is now only about 90K due to relentless Tory manpower cuts - so she will probably only have 8K to 10K available to put down the massive riots she is predicting How many massive riots have we had in the last 2 years of May dithering - none. But she is talking us into imitating the French "yellow vests" democratic movement actions. She should remember that "Revolutions are easy to start and impossible to stop - revolutions end by consuming the initiators"

A volatile week is predicted next week as the BREXIT vote works through and lots of company updates and central bank news and US financial news will be published - could be a roller coaster ride for lots of SPs

Auson - that is true but the MTRO spread has been at 10% when brokers do not want to buy the shares.

very small volume of shares today - lots of small buys - the SP will move up when the big investors get over their shock at the mega drop and start buying again
