Thanks for that valuable info mole_man but I am still very confusing. If shares are kept in the company's treasury not counted in the total share issues but why some companies buy back their shares and cancel them instead of saving them in their treasury. So that they can pay their convertible bond holders or award their company directors, saving them to issue new shares again?

Hi meshtrader my friend, VOD's SP has been hoovering at these levels for so many years. Whether we like it or not, perhaps we have to accept that this is probably the true value. Otherwise how else can we explain why it can never even get near to those brokers' target prices..........

No, you were wrong SmithyS. The bond convertion caused no dilution at all because VOD offered their bond holders shares from its treasury. There were no new shares issuance. Therefore, there was no dilution at all......

Sadly the shares VOD bought back were with VOD's own agenda. They will not be cancelled but kept in its treasury. Thus the total number of shares of the company doesn't change. Therefore it has no effects on the share price at all whatsoever.......

Also their buy back program isn't big and the idea of their buy back wasn't aimed at pushing the share price up. They actually prefer a lower price. So that they could spend less and buy back more shares. Just take a look at the transaction of own shares RNS. They bought shares small bit by bit: couple thousands, one thousand, a few hundred and even two digits or single digit!! How could they push the share price up like that?.......lol

Thanks for the valuable info adv11. Just checked RECI's dividends records on Dividendmax. It seems that their payouts were quite consistent for the past few years. Although it's SP has fallen by half in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, it has already recovered half of it so far. If it can go back to its pre-pandemic level then there will be a 30% upside plus great dividends on top. Not too bad at all.

Sorry to interrupt but buys and sells from the trade reports are not correct, because the way computers record buys and sells. Trades above the mid-price will be labelled as buys and trades below the mid-price will be labelled as sell but we can often buy a share below the mid-price. Vice versa, we can sometimes sell a share above the mid-price. Therefore the trade reports can not be trusted. They are always inaccurate....

Sorry 1.ARMANI, do you mind enlighten us once again in layman's terms? What has AV buying leaseholds from house builders to do with LGEN share price?
