Vodafone Group Plc ? Q1 FY22 trading update

Growth in Europe and Africa

· Group service revenue growth of 3.3%* (Q4: 0.8%*), with growth across both Consumer and Business segments

· Strong service revenue trend, including one-off growth of around 1.0 percentage point following COVID-19 disruption last year

· Good service revenue growth in Germany of 1.4%* (Q4: 1.2%*)

· Europe mobile contract churn 1.6 percentage points lower than Q1 FY20 (pre-pandemic), but commercial activity yet to return to normal conditions

· Roaming and visitor revenue grew 56% year-on-year, but still 54% lower than Q1 FY20 (pre-pandemic)

· Vodafone Business service revenue growth of 2.7%*, driven by strong growth in IoT and digital services

· Strong growth in Africa, with M-Pesa transaction volumes increasing 45% year-on-year

· On track to deliver FY22 guidance with Adjusted EBITDAaL expected to be between €15.0 - €15.4 billion and Adjusted FCF of at least €5.2 billion

It's good but is it good enough? Have to wait until the markets open and see how they react...

Hello robleo, Mikey and everyone, good afternoon, another baking hot day, gosh! Can't even breathe. Been working in my garden, leveling the slaps pavement. The grass grew so tall, half of the slaps were buried more than an inch lower than the lawn. Dug them up and filled up will some soil and stones underneath to make them level with the lawn. I am sweating like a pig here.....oh my, I am going to die....

Whoa, whoa, whoa fleccy, my head is spinning! You win, I don't want to argue with you over all these complicated deferred taxes thingy but only to reiterate: depreciation does reduce the total net assets value. Will affect the share price and that's it........lol

Well, small AIM shares are controlled by MMs. There's nothing we can do.

The SP seems going nowhere but consider this is the ex-dividend day. It's doing quite well already compared to others. It probably will finish the day unchanged again...... let's hope so.....

Well, at least we are outperforming the FTSE. Let's hope that the gain can be retained at the end of the day.

Lol fleccy, I think you know very little about business. Like the value of cars, apart from goodwill, most assets do depreciate every year. I was a small business man before retired. The balance sheets showed depreciation of my business assets every year. They kept on shrinking year after year. Cash is only one part of the net assets. The depreciation will reduce the total net assets value. Thus it will affect the share prices. The 'D' of the EBITDA is depreciation, an important part of accounting!!!........lol

Well, in fact I got problem with caterpillars. They destroyed one of my flower beds just like what VOD did to my wealth. I uprooted the whole lot and replaced them with new plants under the scorching sun. No idea how much sweat I have shed......oh my!

The closing price has been artificially pushed up by the UT of just 60 shares to 113.50p. The MMs were very clever. That will help the ex-dividend today with the price drop. Well done!!

Oh, and devpom, don't pay attention to those trade reports. They are mostly incorrect because the way computers record buys and sells. Trades above the mid-prices will be labelled as buys and below the mid-price will be labelled as sells but we often can buy a share below the mid-price. Vice versa, we can often sell a share above the mid-price. Therefore those trade reports are unreliable at all.
