RE: Qualcomm28 Apr 2020 14:35
So what's the SM / Qualcomm win going into production in 2020?
This is from the Cenkos CES note
"Qualcomm is one of the top six major Tier 2 processing platform providers to the auto industry and this relationship adds to Tier2 processing platform relationships that also includes Xilinx and we believe most likely at least a few of the others: Renesas, Infineon Nvidia and TI.
The announcement with Qualcomm formalises and publicises a relationship that we believe is
probably several years old and we believe this will have a highly beneficial marketing impact for
Seeing Machines. This is because other OEMs looking for DMS solutions will now see a market
ready solution available through a major trusted supply chain partner. Qualcomm is a trusted
advisor to 33 different OMS, according to its marketing materials,
In the Qualcomm CES presentation, it noted that it already had a first win for a premium next-
gen infotainment design for production vehicles starting 2020. Additionally, 19 different
automakers have selected the Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive ****pit platform (which
includes as an option Driver and Occupant monitoring). and with Tier 1 partnerships including:
Alpine, Bosch, Continental, Denso, Desay, FG, Garmin, Hangsheng, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic,
Tencent and Visteon."
