Thanks LTI :)
I understand the excitement for vaccine solution and the ongoing need year in year out
But what also excites me is market or treatments for areas like rare diseases which require a regular dose.
Amicus (FOLD) developed an oral pill for Fabry's and at present that is their only drug (launched to market march 2017). Just in the UK they took around 50% of the market worth 20 million in less than two years. The other two competitors were injection every two weeks at home, Cost of storage cost of healthcare workers and improved quality of life for patients made this possible.
amicus does have a drug in third phase but they are worth 5/6 billion now based on a pill instead of injection and that's just one example
As I've said, i'm no scientists and don't really know percentage wise what the likelihood of success is and would likely put more in if I knew, So any sensible help here would be great :)
