My post below replying to sharepoint. I was, of course, only referring to 88E's Alaskan asset base. Sure, let's include the Texas reserves if you wish. Even doubling the valuation 88E paid to buy into the Texas asset, it's still only a fraction of the current 88E mkt cap.

By my reckoning, 88E's share of Texas profits/dividend doesn't yet cover 88E's G&A. Correct? Brom?

Redbeardoil2 - cost for 88E to build a gravel pad, drill a 10k ft lateral production well, install treatment facilities at surface to ready the crude for road transport to TAPS.....surely looking at US$30m absolute minimum. And then there's the question of what to do with the attendant gas because the SoA DNR won't allow perpetual flaring.

I still think 88E are years away from a production well and LTPT, don't you? Looking at today's RNS, seems appraisal wells are going to be on 88E's agenda for the next few years. Agreed?

Hi Redbeardoil2 - I think you mean pushed back (from a calendar perspective)?

I think their plan is to pray (as I am, to be clear) that the Hickory-1 flow test goes swimmingly. Personally I'm doubtful about the BFF in that location (refer PANR's webinar that quality of BFF diminishes as it moves downdip and southwards) but the SFS (Upper and Lower) and SMD intervals are the "primary" areas of focus.

Good flow test results and it's easier to raise cash, easier to look for farm in, etc, etc.

Brom - do you have a budget for the total expenditure expected for this winter, please? Icepad and road construction, kit, contractors, multiple flow tests and demob? Do you agree with me that the Hickory-1 operations this winter will pretty much exhaust the current cash balance of 88E?

Another question please, Brom. Is Erik Opstad working with or for 88E these days? Was he fired? Is there any continuing Association between 88E and Opstad and/or his family-owned companies? TIA

If I were PANR management I wouldn't proceed with any such meeting. I would explain to shareholders that Jim couldn't even tell the truth about how the meeting was set up, revealing himself to be untrustworthy and clearly incapable of acting with integrity and honesty. But that's just my view.

Jim/Louise - still waiting for your comparative valuation of PANR and 88E. You tell us repeatedly of your decades in the sector valuing projects in America and Europe. C'mon Jim, it's been months, where is it? You've started the 88E rev up commentary. Your readers must surely expect you've done the modelling work necessary to comment authoritively on either stock. It would be incredibly interesting to be a fly on the wall in Mangrove's office this morning when they read this RNS. In recent days they increased their short back to 0.91% likely in anticipation of the CB holder selling their Sept qtr stock as per the pattern established since the CB was initiated.

Imagine their surprise to wake up in the US later today to see the largest shareholder adding to his position and the realisation that there wasn't going to be CB-related selling it over the next 8 weeks.

It was an overly aggressive play by Mangrove to increase their short in the belief the CB holder would be selling mechanically in the next few weeks because it also ignores the fundamental news about to come from the flow test of the SMD at Alkaid-2.

IMO their aggression is going to cost Mangrove dearly as I contend the market will be very pleasantly surprised by today's news, very pleasantly surprised indeed.

1) Mangrove Partners increased their short back up to 0.91%, likely in anticipation of the CB holder's Sept qtr stock coming on to the market in a week's time. That's your recent large seller.

2) Spencer would not have been allowed to forward sell this stock in the period you suggest as he'll have been classed as an insider during negotiations.
