Any person who buys here, today, now, at these prices...is just a complete balloon. Why the **** would you buy right now when next week there is an almost certain chance you could be buying at almost 15 pence cheaper? In the absence of a positive statement from the CWU...or a slow, inextricable and gradual raise back up to say 2.10 plus, why would you buy in here when next week there is every likelihood that it is all going to go to Hell? Must be plain bonkers!!

With all due respect to you, Nuri, you can equate your average industrial action to that of the CWU. With over 80000 posties taking turns (one shift at a time) at striking, (at least 80 000 in my opinion) this ensures they still receive the bulk of their pay, the effects would be almost immediate...after just several days -- devastating! As for going all out at at once...well, I cannot really envision that. But ask this one thing of your local postie: if they mail was not collected from the local post boxes for say just 72 hours would the mail be spilling out of the boxes onto the street? Even with the massive reduction in letter volumes an all out strike would be catastrophic!!! And collecting the mail from letter boxes, these days anyway, is just one small p!ss in the ocean as far as the main operations of the Royal Mail are concerned. Unless you have worked for Royal Mail you just cannot possibly imagine the carnage that would ensue if there was an all out strike. And no amount of training and contingency can cover that!!!!

Let us hope common sense prevails at the mediation talks...because it does not -- the posties will strike like you have never seen before!!! If anybody here does not understand this simple fact then they are completely burying their heads in the sand. With 40, 000 jobs at stake what else would anyone expect? If the posties are going to go down then in the words of Terry Pullinger: yeah, maybe, Rico...but this will be the best second you have ever seen. Ominous words, JBTHISTLE...ominous words indeed.

This share price will take at least five years to get back to £6.31...and if this strike comes off -- it is totally trashed!! Whomever buys in here, even at these subdued prices, has to accept they are in it, for, as I just said, the long, long haul. This is not even a moderately average term holding -- IT IS LONGTERM -- PERIOD!!!

Whether Pinky and Perky care to accept it or not I have, at present, 6000 plus shares...and intend to keep on buying them. So - yes, Fruitster, I totally agree with you on this. Oh...and by the way, Redceo: I used to own 10,000 shares...but sold 8600 at £5.96. You can work that one out, Redceo...should'nt be to difficult for a financial genius as yourself (lol). P.s It will be a long time before you make that sort of profit...a considerably longer time. You are in it for the long-haul, mate...the long, long haul. And thats with a full field pack plus ammo.

The reason the Royal Mail is in such ****-order is that for years a huge proportion of their staff have been been stood idly by doing b@lls-all, JBTHISTLE. And you think Rico Back does'nt understand that? You bet your sweet arse he does! Where I differ from Rico Back is this: Yes the Royal Mail does urgently need modernizing, yes there are many lazy, unproductive posties, yes the sick pay procedure does need radically overhauling, yes the union has to much direct influence, yes the managers are toothless lions, yes there is a vast amount of unnecessary wastage...and yes it all needs putting right -- but not at the cost of a terrible blood-letting that will completely destroy the reputation and profitability of the Royal Mail for years to come!! You cannot equate the Royal Mail to any other publicly owned company -- that is a complete nonsense!!! Do you honestly believe in just six short years you can transform a huge, sprawling giant of an organisation like the Royal Mail from some sort of governmental department whose employees (and especially management!!) viewed it as an ever available cash-cow to a highly profitable and efficient company. Because if you do, JBTHISTLE and Redceo -- you are in for a bl00dy big shock!!!!

Bearing in mind that 2020 is less than just three months away you might, perhaps, suggest even the 2019/2020 Winter? I await your much purported wisdom with great anticipation. Almost every night of the week I see people being sacked by Amazon. They do not recognize any union (although a union official visits the premises every other month or so to see if anyone wants to join...no one is interested) and they insist people work diligently and industriously...I have no problem with this, but some people do -- and get immediately sacked! If you call that a bad press then fine...its a "bad press". My pay is reasonable, nearly up there with the Royal Mails hourly rate (don't get the shift allowances like they do unfortunately) but...it is a decent, living wage. So to sum up, JBTHISTLE: if some sacked posties went to Amazon for employment -- most would'nt last the night!!! And thats the truth of it.
