I work for Amazon, JBTHISTLE. As I disclosed right from the very start I used to work for Angard...due to a former nomadic lifestyle I have worked in at least five different areas when working for the Royal Mail...and that equates to about 9 different depots at the very least. So...errrrrr...as usual...wrong again, JBTHISTLE.

Not just "some" of the gas boxes go from WRT, but in fact it is actually "all" of the Scottish gas replacement parts go from WRT.
I did'nt just "packed a few myself" -- I packed the lot! Hundreds...if not several thousands of items every single night.
You claim there are 12.000 British Gas engineers....fair enough (I would'nt know myself) how many do you think are domiciled in Scotland? A couple of hundred out of 12000?

Regarding your comments about the impromptu strike. It was'nt the CWU leadership that got the posties back to work...they in fact endorsed and supported it. Royal Mail caved in and reinstated the Bootle postie and the two Warrington drivers. Was this wise? To back down in favour of three suspended posties against the lawful requests of a manager? Bearing in mind of course that right now as I type there are posties who are still trying to decide which way to vote regarding industrial action. This does not fill me with any encouragement that Rico Back and RMG have any stomach for what could be a long, drawn out and immensely damaging strike. You in your own indignant, pompous, egotistical way might see it differently of course -- good luck with that!!!!

The truth is your comments were nothing but erroneous assumptions fueled by your usual attempts to insist on the acceptance, by the wider audience, of your own overly inflated and uninformed opinions which stem from your belief you know everything there is to know about the logistical operations of the Royal Mail -- which you don't!! I am quite sure you know many things about the Royal Mail that I know nothing of, JBTHISTLE...but, sadly, for you...you don't know everything.

And I put you in the same category also, Redceo...you are two of the same.

And regarding my investing: I hold shares in approx 21 (21 at last count anyways) companies...most of them in the AIM. I consider Royal mail and Amazon my main two (obviously) investments...doing splendid with Amazon; happy with Royal Mail also! Regarding my AIM investments: two bordering on insolvency, several looking grim, several struggling, several treading water, several doing rather well...and one (admittedly just out of pure dumb luck) -- going absolutely berserk!! But hey, thats about par for the AIM. I think officially 90% of most AIM companies lose money. So there you have it. Care to divulge your wisdom, JBTHISTLE? Because if so -- I am all ears!

Allow me to correct you on a couple of your comments, JBTHISTLE. Firstly, there are not just a couple of dozen replacement parts being transported to Scotland via Warrington Rail Terminal for the British Gas engineers every night...there are in fact hundreds. Whats more, do you honestly think there are only even a few hundred British Gas engineers in Scotland? Or perhaps you think there are only a few hundred gas boilers in Scotland? Errrr...noooo.
As for the CWU executive getting the lads back to work...errr (embarrassingly for you)...noooo - wrong again! The postie who had been suspended was reinstated...and also the two drivers who refused to cross the picket line (one of the drivers has 40 years service with the Royal Mail) were also reinstated. Do you honestly think if Dave Ward had instructed the strikers to go back to work those men would have been reinstated? That problem would have been resolved by someone with executive powers working for RMG...not by the CWU ordering the strikers to abandon their picket lines. So there we have it, JBTHISTLE...wrong again -- but on all accounts this time!! Lol

Your wasting your breathe with these two pompous idiots, IslewotthSpy...one who has'nt got a clue about that which he writes of, and the other who speaks to ex-colleagues far removed from the terminal that actually transports the British Gas Boxes to the Glasgow depot.

Oh, and gentlemen (?) (this is for Redceo and JBTHISTLE) as for the CWU National Executive being embarrassed and appalled at the impromptu strikes that took place in several areas (not just depots) -- far from it! Dave Ward (CWU General Secretary) has already commented on the incident...and fully endorsed it. As for Terry Pullinger: he was on the phone talking to the various CWU area reps as it was happening...he, I have been informed, sympathized and fully endorsed it also. Like I said -- two pompous idiots!!

I have worked many times at WRT...it would not be the fist occasion those sealed, blue British Gas boxes failed to make the departure time for the Glasgow train. Like I said -- a very expensive failure every time! British Gas might be locked into a contract that does not petmit them to easily terminate it...unless under extraidanory circumstances -- like, for example, a prolonged strike. Fridays walkout at WRT might just have been the very last straw. But if it was'nt -- then what happened most certainly didn't help!!

If true they have just lost a very lucrative contract which provides work at WRT five times weekly...plant manager there will be beside himself I can assure you.

It is because, as I reported, all Warrinton depots came out on Friday...impromptu strike lasted till quarter past nine in the evening. The British gas parts are for the Scottish British gas engineers. Arriving from Leicester they are packed onto the train every night at Warrington Rail Terminal. The train has to leave at exactly 11.30 every night for Glasgow...the manager has the option of a "hold" for no more than ten minutes at a cost of approx £1000.00 a time. If the boxes do not leave on the train an extra lorry has to be found...but, unfortunately, to late for the engineers to replace those parts the next working day. The enginers would have to be compensated...unsute who foots the bill -- but I assume expensive! Guess British gas have now finally had enough...they have been let down by Royal Mail more than once.

At what point in 2020 will the share price hit £5.50? You do not have to be within a week or two...just name one of the following seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. The strike started in Bootle on Wednesday as certain socialist ragmags reported...but the Warrington sympathy strike started yesterday...it included Warrinton Rail Terminal, Warrington Hub, Mill Lane distribution centre and also Sankey mail centre. As previousky mentioned I know for sure that Bradford, Yorkshire distribution centre and Preston were also involved...unconfirmed butI was told the National distribution centre had gone out as well. Strike was callef off at quarter past nine last evening. It will take the next couple of days to sort out what must be a right old mess!!

Incident I reported last night was not "old news"...impromptu strike began sometime just before 2 o clock in the afternoon yesterday. It started in Bootle and quickly spread to Yorkshire Distribution Centre, Bradford, Preston and Warrington; someone mentioned the NDC (Birmingham) and Manchester were involved...but I cannot confirm that as of yet. The strike was called off at approx quarter past nine in the evening. A manager at the Royal Mail whom I speak to on the telephone on a regular basis told me that there is now mail "all at sea" as drivers whom should have left hours previously where left unloaded...in his words "half the fleet has been dissolved all over the "bleeping North bleeping West"!! I guarantee you right now, not just in those depots but in many others, managers, whom should have been at rest over the weekend, will, frantically, and with the aid of many agency workers, be trying to put right what only took a mere couple of hours, in just a handful of depots, to go horribly wrong. The Royal Mail will still be seeing the effects come Monday...and that is just after a little local spat. Now try to imagine the whole blown thing? It would not make happy reading I can assure you. I can also assure you of one other thing. That strike would have resolved only by intervention from someone at the very highest level! So there you have it.

I have been informed the strike started in Bootle. A postie, of ethnic minority, has claimed, allegedly, that a manager used abusive and racialist language, allegedly, towards him. He was suspended. Two drivers who refused to cross the picket line have also been suspended. I assume that if all of Warrington is out on strike then the same can be said of Liverpool. Looks like the fight has already started. If something is not done now -- right now that is -- then Monday may be too late. Not good this...not good at all.

All posties in Warrington at Sankey Mail Centre, new hub, WRT and Mill Lane now out on impromptu strike in support of suspended Liverpool postie and two local drivers also under suspension. Trying to find out more through my contacts. Update as soon as possible.
