I see the resident chief ramper, Redceo, is still spouting his misinformed drivel and repeated mantra:" 5.50 in 2020". 5.50 in 2020? Really? Well, 2020 is only 3 short months away. When exactly in 2020 is the s.p going to hit 5.50, Redceo? And, of course...you are going to be a laugh stocking when you are not only completely wrong...but a long, long way off from that forecast also. You have about as much chance of hitting 5.50 in 2020 as you have in getting into your favourite pussy's tights...and trust me, she can blow on it as much as she likes -- but it won't get any bigger! :) Lol. P.s what you know about the Royal Mail you could literally print on the back of a postage stamp...you have'nt been right yet -- about anything!!

Cannot recall, JBTHISTLE, if you have previously stated that you are or have been a postie. But from my numerous sources all I hear is rumblings of great discontent. The way I see it the biggest problem is Rico's determination to sever Parcel Force from the main body of the Royal Mail itself. The union will be more alarmed by this one thing than any other thing. Simply put: just a means to divide and conquer. And no union is going to be comfortable with that!

The next external mediation session takes place tomorrow. Unless Rico Back has a complete change of heart things will not improve much at that meeting. He is yet to attend, and refuses to allow any other senior executives to attend either, selecting only junior executives, without any real authority to make binding decisions, to represent the board at the negotiating table. According to Pullinger, the Royal Mail, although conceding it is the union who have brought the dispute, are trying to dictate the talks by attempting to avoid some of the main issues and only showing any sort of interest in what they would consider vital and important. This is not going down well with Pullinger and his team...nor with the union members also. Unless a final and binding solution can be found, and found soon, then you can all be assured of one thing: massive discontent amongst most CWU members and a massive YES vote which will lead to one of the most destructive strikes of any British company in the last 40 years. There will be no winners here. It will be like a nuclear war between two super-powers -- Mutually Assured Destruction!! One word for what could be the awful outcome -- Tragic!!!

Spot on, Gotrader. The directors here have milked their cash cow like the proverbial Jersey. In my opinion, as things stand now, the s.p is about at the higher end of fair value...could easily fall below 50p before any chance of a recovery. I will give Jaggers this much....at some point soon it does, perhaps, present itself as another buying in opportunity.

I am not doubting there is a very reasonable chance IQE might just come good...very good in fact. But when? Of that I am less sure. The point I have been making over the last several days was not to get suckered in by buying in the mid to high sixties. With the current short position, that was, in my opinion, unwise. And regarding that current short position: it will be interesting to see which direction in goes in during the next several days...because if it rises over 9% again it will take what will feel like an age for the s.p to appreciably rise up to former higher levels. Barring out-of-the-blue really good, unexpected news of course. And there has not been much of that of late I can tell you.

Agreed, Mike31...under 4 pence in the next day or two by the look of things. Not sure about sub 3p by Xmas...but certainly could dip under 4p very soon.

Cannot argue with the buying in opportunities, Jaggers...at the right price of course. But any sort of way you personally wish to cut it the markets might not quite agree with your views regarding IQE'S imminent future prospects. Of course good, solid investing and savvy, advantageous positioning for the future is of vital importance for any company...but the markets needs more than just your: "customer profile, scale/broad mass market growth prospects and diversity". They need to see order books being filled and production running at full or near full capacity...not these endless speculations of what might be or should be or could be. IQE has spent a lot of money investing in this much touted future but, as of yet...we see precious little sight of it. This s.p is going to need something much more substantial than the last RNS. A lot more substantial if it hopes to break out of this seemingly endless Groundhog Day scenario.

Nothing new here for IQE...after the unwarranted euphoria the slow but assured slide downwards to its true market value -- about 45 - 50p a share in my honest view, whether you new investors like it or not. Welcome aboard!

None other threat to IQE? There are at least four other semi-conductor super-clusters in Europe alone. What are they going to be doing in the very near future? Just sitting around playing with their thingy-me-bobs? IQE is leading the way in state of the art "compound" semi-conductors yes quite right but these components are not an end product in themselves...they are, hopefully (there is that word again) going to help support a massive range of new technologies in the very near future. Like I mentioned earlier we had all better hope that future, for IQE that is, comes pretty damned quick! Otherwise for several years to come IQE will just keep bobbing around like a cork on the ocean at these sorts of s.p levels with the day traders and shorter's being the only ones to make any appreciable gain from it. And that's just the way it has been for IQE for quite a while now. Like I said -- could be a rather long, frustrating wait for an appreciable return.

I read the RNS statements as well, Qd22. IQE have made many such grandiose statements over the last several years backed up by absurd brokers notes (I believe Peel Hunt were suggesting £1.37 for the s.p earlier in the year -- so much for that!) about how their imminent future is looking rosy and bright...unforeseen circumstances soon put an end to all those unfortunate boasts. As a long term holder I say this: yes, IQE have an enviable infrastructure now in place to handle the (hopefully) anticipated demand for envisioned new tech...but what about the competition? Do they not have a say in all of this? And who is to say that others cannot match, or even surpass, IQE in quality, quantity and pricing? Does the world just stand still whilst IQE waits for its much touted future to plonk itself down on their doorstep? We, as investors, had better hope that this much touted future does indeed come calling. Or this might just turn out to be the biggest white elephant ever! And as for me? I am a long term holder...but if this all goes sour I might be holding for some considerably long period of time.

Whoaaaa!! Whats going on here then? S.p looks a little shaky. Looking rather tenuous now...and at the very least I would have to say.

I very much would like to think so, Qd22 -- but it is those damned shorter's which trouble me most. Still no appreciable change there...much to my annoyance.

The one glaring problem with all of this of course is the amount of shares out on loan. Until the short position on IQE comes down to under 3% then this s.p will continue to go up and down like a paper plane...I think it is safe to assume that the professionals who make a good living out of shorting stocks like IQE have more "readily available" (interpret that as you will) information to turn to then we do. Of course the RNS is good news. But in the short term? Nah! It will take more than that which is contained in this RNS...and thats a fact. P.s autonomous cars? Not convinced about autonomous cars either...not in the near future anyways.

Traded this a few times myself over the last couple of years, djframboise....made a few quid at it. Bit sick and tired now of sitting and staring at the screen all day...made the decision to be a long term holder instead. Hope it does hold here...but cannot see it. My guess is we will see the mid-fifties again in a very short while. Might be another good topping up opportunity -- cheers!

Buying at 55p not such a bad idea....buying at the mid 60s -- not so sure of that.

Agreed, Gotrader, the news, at first glance, did look good. Did'nt look that great when you reread it several times...oh, and checked the latest short situation for IQE...that does'nt offer much joy either. Will be some time yet, at least next year I should think...as long as the much heralded new tech demands are starting to come to fruition that is, before this s.p breaks free of this much predictable cycle.

I do hope none on here have been buying these shares of late? The much anticipated RNS was'nt worth ****. More of the same: jam tomorrow...if you are lucky that is.

Hello, Kondratiev. I have to agree with the points you have made...but I still have serious doubts whether this company can survive. The next 6 months are absolutely crucial. We shall see.
