BT will prove a sound defensive stock, precisely why O have invested heavily into it and I plan on buying more too. Said this ages ago and everything happening in the markets right now is playing out as I'd anticipated it would do.

I disagree JO... Capita IMO does not have enough time to mount a turnaround. The storm is already here and CPI is jettisoning the profitable parts of it which have helped with keeping it afloat... AH has made some good calls but I fear he arrived far too late.

NOFEAR - that could end up being a rather good play at 16.86p... if the Fed intervenes... However, if the Fed allows the drop/correction, and continues to sit it out on the sidelines then Monday could bring some further drops yet.

GoCPI - As I explained, I've been iteratively investing into BT as after thorough analysis I'd determined CPI is in a major crisis. Look the only reason the results show profit is due to the sale of Capita One... the next set of results are going to show the huge spend AH has been making into AI and it's going to show there's a lag in the sales (which are still declining right now) catching up to make up the gap.

Revenues, even if market conditions remain stable, are near to certain to have dropped down to a level of around £2.2bn annually... and CPI could easily plunge down towards £2.1bn and below, if conditions worsen (I think they will).

CPI will have gone from being almost £5bn in 2015 to barely £2bn and what amplifies the pain is over that time there's been massive cumulative inflation.

£1.57-£1.67p on Ex-Div date - One of the reasons I've bought many tranches of BT stock and I tipped it as one of the top performers for this FY is I think it's a very wise defensive stock in what I expected to be very turbulent times. BT SP is performing as I'd hoped it would.

"What did people expect today" - Well I predicted an absolute bloodbath and everyone on here berated/ridiculed me for it!

Many wild accusations & conspiracy theories were directed towards me, quite a lot of unpleasant language, despite me having shared plenty of sound evidence for my reasoning and after giving others on here ample opportunity to dispute and evidence their POV.

Look straight up I came onto this CPI board initially because I considered it as an investment candidate, I did my due diligence and did not like what I found so I invested in BT. Relieved I properly digested the evidence! I've only been trading since Dec 2022 but I have been watching markets for years from the sidelines learning before taking any plunge with my hard earned cash. I've had some good plays, TUI/CURRYS/JDW/BT (1st time) - currently in on BT for 2nd time after a gap - as well as having done well trading some others too. No losses so far but I fully intend to book some down the line, I just genuinely have not had any yet.

Stille - oh absolutely, there's plenty of appetite to fly and I have never disputed that at all. It's precisely why I bought up lots of TUI (post consolidation & pre-RI) held it for a while and sold it for a decent profit. However, there's massive deep rooted economic issues for the UK.

Glowacki - Agree... CPI sold of a profitable wing to provide some temporary stability and it was a good decision by AH to have sold Capita One but... imagine what the fall would have looked like had AH not made that call. What will CPI sell off next to limit the losses for the H2 results?

Stupmy... I did a long while back mention that issues with commercial real estate values were going to be a source of immense pain for all developed nations, many offices & retail outlets buildings are now close to being completely worthless with some even worse as they're effectively a financial black hole.

I'm not so sure that EZJ will fall below the £4 mark, it's possible but their results were much better than other carriers - imo EZJ has to have taken the lunch from other carriers and that should offer it some defence... that said the Dow Futures are looking bad and may get even worse before the 2.30pm open, looks like a correction to me - although I think a rally will have begun again by mid-month.

These CPI results look especially badly timed😬 - Dow Jones Futures not looking good at all, when US markets open up at 2.30pm CPI could fall some more yet, along with the rest of the FTSE.

Trisor your generation voted in 14yrs of Tory chaos, decline & many paid a high price for their incompetence. The new & decent centrist Labour Party can now begin repairing the damage.

Trisor it's about time minted pensioners had some perks they do not need clawed back. Poverty for working people and particularly child poverty is at record high levels, almost dickensian in some regions/areas. Many in receipt of the winter fuel payments have never needed it, good decision by Reeves! More good decisions by her to come too.

As for the CPI revenues they have done precisely what I had imagined they would do and the SP is rightly getting hammered by the markets for it.

Conveniently skips over the fact that more than half the profits were derived from selling Capita One which was a profitable arm of Capita 🙄
