Plenty of excuses for JD. Surely they will blame tariffs, gov shutdown, the release of Epstein Files, gov budget, softer spending due to inflation and inflation itself.

Perhaps that’s part of the produce they couldn’t sell due to restricted access to the U.S. market? Perhaps it is just packaging material, still a massive inventory.

In the last conference call I asked whether they would prioritise buybacks over dividends, considering the low share price. They answered that major shareholders preferred the dividend. I assume that dividends will be prioritised over R&D. I’m not a big fan of businesses heavily spending on R&D, if lots of R&D is needed, chances are the business is on the verge of obsolescence, due to the nature of the sector.

The question you asked ‘ is management content to cede revenue to rivals as long as margins remain intact, rather than actively defending share?’ Would be a good question to ask at the next conference call, next month.

Competition didn’t make a dent in margins, but very possibly eroded revenue.

Johnny, compare market cap and financials with Gap to get an idea about how much a US listing will price JD at.

How unusual to seek a listing on the JSE. The LSE is undervaluing stocks so much that companies move to Africa now? Don’t south Africans have access to investments in the Uk?
