We continue to expect muted market growth in FY27.

Frankly a guidance with a lower limit of £750m sounds like a downgrade to me.

At least it won’t be at stupid o’clock in the UK, unlike LITE yesterday.

Lumentum up 10%

AXTI up 7%

MACOM up 5%

Coherent up 7.5%

Iqe hasn’t got a lot to go to catch up with the 60-70p pre-dilution (50-58 post-dilution)

Lots of room to go to distantly match peers.

Lord I believe the share price drop was not a vote of no confidence, but the effect of dilution with the sell off.

I need to take something back regarding Qianming Zhao; while I initially thought they simply regretted a bad investment after buying at 55p and selling in the high 30s after placing, I realized this was likely a calculated move. They must have bought shares at the lower placing price to sell the equivalent number of existing shares the day after, banking an immediate profit on the spread while keeping their total investment exposure unchanged once they receive the new shares in May. Since this strategy is executed by most professional investors, it suggests that the selling pressure is being front-loaded now, meaning the actual sell-off will be very limited once the shares officially hit the market in May.

Placing price is not the fair value of the company. It is designed to attract capital. The discount was not that deep compared to the trading range up to March.

Many investors were in too late, in April, and lost their shirt.

At least at current price. 45-50p is still achievable if sentiment is sustained.

MACOM has a very active order book, they desperately needed to secure supply, IQE will benefit from good order intake from them.

Lumentum is a large partner and is growing fast. It sits next door to IQE. There is lots for IQE, however we don’t know the numbers.

We need the trading update in May and ask questions to the management.

Consider that yesterday closing price is already 54p equivalent pre-dilution. Quite strong close indeed.

Closing at 45p is the equivalent of 60p pre-dilution

Closing at 52p the equivalent of 70p (recent high)

The market cap has to go higher to get us back to the old price. 70p now means £1 billion capitalisation, with a price to sale ratio of 8, based on guidance, the PS ratio could even be lower considering that we likely beat guidance.

AXT raised $550 million in public offering for capacity expansion. It dwarfs IQE cash availability.

Does IQE need to expand its production capacity, as AXTI? Will AXTI rival IQE in the same space?

It would be interesting to compare AXT projected capacity to IQE, is the market big enough to absorb all the throughput by these two companies?

IQE could actually be AXTI typical customer and not compete directly, $500m are not peanuts, I hope they are not planning to overlap with IQE. I’d like to see them working in synergy instead

50-52p equates to 70p pre-dilution

Possible but not in one day.

I have conviction it will hit £1 billion valuation, now for 70p with the dilution.

Iqepf is actually trading a notch higher than IQE on AIM

Now if you ask why the share dropped to 40p despite the placing at 20p, you need to tie a course of basic algebra.

Future expansion should be funded from earnings, this should be the last fund raise.

I am glad we kept the Taiwan factory, it seems lots is going on in this geography (ask Landmark Opto)

In the 40s at opening is the dilution alone. Now moving on sentiment. When people realise that a smaller slice of a bigger cake is better than a big slice of a rotting cake it will rerate, I can’t tell but perhaps before close.
