Yes, certainly 'interesting comment' re : his Nos on the forthcoming 2021 Y/E outcome; I note that his eps forecast is some 20% higher than my earlier guesstimate - let's hope he's right...

Now that we're a £1Bn mkt cap. Co, perhaps it's the right time for their 'aspiration' to move onto the main mkt to be realised; can't think of a better time for it with everything running in their favour and such a decision would certainly underpin the current ATH we're seeing right now.

It would also provide the Hardys with the opportunity to 'put through' a decent chunk of their sizeable holding direct to an incoming Insto if they were so minded to reduce their interest somewhat, rather suppress the sp while it's still on Aim.

Better for all of us, too, in that event - sasa.

I wish they'd think of 'feathering our nests' for a change rather than theirs all the time.

Re: POLY - yes, I was happily/ profitably running on with them when the Russian troops built up on Ukraine's border and it looked increasingly ominous to me (after all, you don't normally involve 150k personnel and all that battle equipment just for manoeuvres) so I sold 'em back then - 'just in case...' and am obviously glad I did! - sasa.

Hi Dartron - Serica operates Rhum but only owns half of it; the other 50% is owned by the IOC (Iranian Oil Co) and all the revenues from their half have been held in escrow since the US imposed sanctions on them relating to Iran's growing nuclear activities.

Serica applied for a licence to have access to US equipment (deemed to be the best available in the event of an accident) should they need it and it has been granted / extended so far. If Iran is removed from the sanctions list, the need for Serica's licence from OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) presumably will fall away, too and Serica could then pay over the 'frozen' cash they've held in escrow for them which might provide an opportunity for SQZ to offer to buy the IOC's 50% share to have ownership of it.

Last years F/Y results were announced on the 25th March, so they should be announced within the next fortnight...

Given the strength of the CU price since then, the outcome should be encouraging; bodes well for the next divd announcement, too - sasa.

If the US does lift sanctions against Iran and the IOC is free to benefit from their half of Rhum, maybe Serica would make an offer to buy it from them (OFAC licence continuing) rather than keep looking for alternative deals?

In a month's time, we'll have last years figs. to hand and they'll show what earnings they managed to achieve during quite a turbulent year. My own guess and it can only be that, range between 50p / 75p eps (don't ask me how I get to this bracket as there are multiple variables involved) but whatever they turn out to be will be quite a good guide as to what the earnings projections might be for this year's bumper numbers. I look for double the fig. for 2022, fwiw...

Ergo, if my ave. guess of, say, 60p ps isn't too far off for 2021, the shs are currently selling on a p/e of 5 right now and a prospective multiple of 2.5 for this year - still cheap, imv.

Just idling away the time before April's announcement. Any other guesses? - sasa.

Roger that, musicman - the sp has been particularly strong over the past weeks; on the latest nav, it's on a 7% premium currently. A tad expensive but not that surprising, I suppose, given the demand for base metals and pms in the present climate.

The 4th Qtr figs should be out very shortly and with it a decent boost in the final divd to conclude a very successful year - sasa.

Agreed MassiveRay - that this is thunderously cheap is a given at such a depressed sp level but stats are no longer relevant right now; it's all about extreme negative sentiment ranged against it / anything Russian currently.

It's no longer eligible for remaining in the FTSE 100 on such a lowly valuation level currently and if it's precluded from being in the MSCI which is now under discussion, many international funds will have to exit the stock, too.

Ergo, this has been relegated into a massive binary bet now - a 'double or quits' from here. For me, after many years invested in this well run / successful 'goldie', the question is simply this - 'Do I prefer to lose a very enticing profit opportunity if I don't buy it now or hard cash if I shouldn't have done'?

The former seems more appealing in this wholly unpredictable climate as it costs you nothing ; just my view, fwiw. GLA, anyway, whatever you decide - sasa

There might be a suspension looming here, if an orderly mkt in the shs cannot be maintained.
