That’s what concerns me. I think they would have to do an all share takeover or cash and shares to buy us out. I don’t know if we could trade Newcrest shares here or if they would be allowed in an isa.

If your shares are outside of an isa wrapper then you would incur a loss on the shares sold to offset any CGT if you later sold your GGP shares.

As to whether to sell them though is a decision only you can make.

I see what happened. You quoted $250 an ounce but only multiplied it by $200 in your example.

Red, you give an example of 15 million ounces. GGP’s share at 30% would be 4.5 million ounces.

Multiply 4.5 by $250 and that gives you $1125 million. Not $900 million.

It all depends how you work it out!

Whatever info Newcrest have re Havieron, you can bet GH has also.

Any low bid would be rejected you would think and may already have been rejected for all we know. ( Confidentiality Clause - remember that one).

If a hostile bid is made ( and not expecting one), then this opens the field for others.

The good thing is he has also showed his hand. Maybe he was prepared to sell at 10p before the latest satellite pictures. Now he possibly isn’t quite sure.

SB is gauging everyone’s reaction so that he has a clue about what people will do when the news is out on the 30 th and hopefully the SP will rise into double figures. If he though everyone would be happy with that he might sell down a lot at say 9p. He is playing games.

Someone mentioned some time ago, that HHD1, who normally drill for us, were working at Havieron. So where would the extra rigs come from to drill Scallywag?
