The Financial Conduct Authority says it has banned short selling of some shares at the request of market watchdogs in Spain and Italy.

There’s an EU short-selling regulation that if it’s banned in their markets, it’s reciprocal in other European markets, the FCA tells the BBC.

It is coordinated by ESMA, the European Markets Authority.”

As I understand it, it is not a complete ban on shooters. Just those who have dual listing in Italy and Spain.

You are correct Arniebb. We shall more than likely see another drop in most shares tomorrow. I would also point out that according to the government, the Corona virus is only likely to peak in 10to 14 weeks, so who knows what the state of the markets will be by then.
However a profit or loss only happens when you sell, so I will be holding mine for the foreseeable future.

Just a little thought to change the subject slightly.

People on here have talked about how Newcrest didn’t drill deep enough at Scallywag and Havieron back in the 70’s and gave up the licences which GGP now hold.

I just wonder whether GGP didn’t drill deep enough at Ernest Giles a couple of years back. They had Newmonts state of the art equipment and GGP did their own mmi sampling, so they must have been confident of hitting something more substantial than they did.

Having seen the depths drilled at Havieron, I am left wondering if we could have had a major find at Ernest Giles if only we had gone deeper.

Gold is also up To $1666 an ounce. All coming together.

The board of GGP will know the results of drilling and have their own experts to determine or have a good idea of an MRE, when that time comes. I can’t see Newcrest trying to pull a fast one to get a low figure out. It would do their credibility no good at all.
Besides, making a low bid will only encourage others to bid higher. Newcrest have first option but that doesn’t mean it will succeed.

Could be more warrants being exercised..

Now up to 1641.

That is in place to allow warrants to be exercised without having to inform the market every time I believe. However shares in issue to allow people with notifiable holdings should be rns’d. Not sure when, but nothing by the company in that respect.

Just my belief that we will see a placing. Nothing for anyone to get upset about. Exploration companies need funds to explore.simple as.

If we get a hit at Slaywag orPRE, then we may not have to worry about furtherdilution.

The drilling at Scallywagand Patterson Range East, I believe will leave the company needing more.
Nothing on the shares in issue Rns, so have to believe not that many warrants exercised.
No RNS on The Tasmanian properties either.

We are going to have to raise some soon. Better to get it done early and press on.

Nothing Max. We are still at the same closing price as Monday. A bit of up and down in the sp, but not as volatile as in the recent past.no new Rns, but e live in hope.

I believe that would be the case, which is why our Joint broker Numis is a very shrewd move by GH in bringing them on board.

They have the contacts to arrange funding if required. However many think we will be bought out before this happens.

It woud be nice if it is an institutional buyer, or someone like Rio taking a position. Now what would that do for the sp?

On the other hand it could be mr Beetham buying more. If you look at his post a day or so ago, his holding fluctuates by the millions, or so he says.

Having said that, if it was him, I may be arguing against my previous posts, as Mr Beetham normally subscribes to the platings and pi+is up the warrants as well.

Hopefully a TR1 in the next day or so will illuminate our position..

Johnny I did see your excellent post and many who have been here for some time believe some of the figures you mention could happen. Especially if Havieron continues into Scallywag and other targets prove a hit. It is very exciting times.

We all need to keep a balanced view however and as I said if a placing is done ( even though we are well capitalised for now), don’t be surprised but be glad that GH is thinking ahead and not trying to raise funds when we are desperate for them.

A raise at 5/6 pence would be great.
