When a fund enters the 250 trackers have to buy. These funds are huge. The 250 is a weighted index. Thus as the market falls whilst in contrast Tullow rises the trackers will be needing to buy more. We have a lot further to go here solely to reflect the demand from tracker funds. GLA

This is a massive boost for Tullow. This means that suddenly we get a whole load of buying by passive index trackers. Nothing to do with analysis just funds buying because they have to. Any shorter should be very afraid . This is now a very strong buy up to the end of this month especially when combined with POO

I like a protracted share buy back scheme as it tends to deter shorters. We have a buyer who will keep buying day in day out until December. £2bn is a lot of firepower and means there is always a ready buyer for stock overhangs even with a company as large as Lloyds. I have made good money on the back of these types of schemes in the past. In contrast ad hoc small scale purchases do little to help the sp (IMHO).

Just under 2 years ago I sold my disasterous holding in UKOG at 0.2 (now 0.095) and bought Alba at 0.1. Good decision, just wish I had never ever touched U utter DOG with a barge pole! If Alba goes to 0.9 I will make back my losses on UDOG. I remain pretty confident that I will not only get my cash back but come out in profit. Lots of good things happening here. GLA

BV, I really think that you need to read the RNS of the 6th of January again. What you have posted is complete carp. People have expressed an interest and following the RNS SOU made an offer of a pile of confetti that was rejected out of hand. We wait to see if any worthwhile offers emerge following due diligence. In the meantime we await to see if our incompetent board can get this flowing before we breach on our hedges. Fingers crossed.

MNN, Your lack of understanding both of the laws of probability and 88e are not to your credit. If you wish to bash on about 88e may I suggest you post on their board and tell the people there why they are stupid! 88e, Matad and COPL all have their believers and detracters and the truth will out over a period of time. However, like it or not, but at a point in time the market values a company according to all known factors. I believe that this is cheap and that the CPR will be epic and that we will get a JV that propels this sp to being many multpiles of todays values. Others remain to be convinced, hence the price.

Great research guys that creates a window to buy prior to the RNS. Nice to bank todays rise and then another rise on the back of the permit RNS. I topped up for the Mrs this morning so would be nice to get an instant rise for her. GLA

Hi FA, I tend to spread my investments around and I am not here to push other shares. This has a very low MCap and a lot of upside. Like 88e the weather creates a drilling window and therefore a window of interest. The challenge is to do the research and then invest in good time before the excitment builds. Only a liar always invests at the bottom and always sells at the top. Experience shows it is usually best to skim some off the top before the drill result is known but hopefully this year will be different. Time will tell. In the meantime we should all enjoy a decent rise over the next few months as excitement builds and news flow increases. GLA

88e was my Easter miracle stock of 2021 ( a great escape having been massively underwater) and Matad was my birthday miracle last May. I had also held Matad for ages underwater and sold the lot (except for 50000 which I held just in case) at circa 8p. I am back in both for this drilling "season" but unlike last year I believe that both are better placed . Here's hoping that this year Matad brings it home. GLA

Fairanalyst, I was reading your posts on COPL. I don't necesarily concur but as a holder of Matad was interested in reading your posts. I see you like oilers and Gold. One to add is banks. Banks love rising interest rates ..all those current accounts where they rake in cash and don't pay out anything. I bought more here earlier todayand expect an interesting ride in the coming months. Like COPL I think we just need patience because everything is coming together. We just need those RNS's. GLA

I still fail to see the relevance of knocking other shares here. The overall market is huge with COPL representing a tiny slice of it. No investor (as opposed to gambler) would have all their eggs in this basket and investors should be free to chose what they hold. The bulk of my cash is in Index trackers. My shares are currently in banks (lloyds and Barclays) and I have a number of miners Matad, 88e, COPL, Alba, GFM and AMC. All my miners are a theatre of excitement at this time and I am in profit on all. My highest single share is COPL at 2.56% of my portfolio which means that I can enjoy the ride without over stressing. GLA...patience

So Art has tied in his team with a load of warrants. Basically if the sp rises they will buy them and make money and they are all incentivised to drive the sp higher. So unlikely to do more placings etc. They want the sp to rise and so do I. Nice to know that our interests are 100% aligned.

I understand why people trade shares and do so myself. Normal shares with a tight spread and a predictable trading range. Can't see the point here though at these levels. News could take this to a £1 quickly and that 5% profit you took would look pretty silly compared to what you missed out on. Each to their own, GLA

Bridgedog - the reason why the announcement of the discovery was made has nothing to do with Cuda. They had been checking it out since August. It had everything to do with Arthur wanting to load up prior to the closed period and not get done for insider trading! Can you imagine the outcry if he filled his boots and then let the market know he had been sitting on a 1.5bn discovery since August. He could potentially have been heavily fined or even jailed.
