I have to say I haven't listened in to any of his appearances on CNN lately, but he used to bang on about buying back shares rather than more drilling when oil and gas prices were rock bottom - particularly gas in Canada. At the time it made sense.

His theme was buy back the shares and take the company private (avoid all the regulation etc). But if I was looking at buying into a company, the last one I would invest in is one that I believe is going to go private, as there is then no market for your shares.

Buy on rumour sell on news, perhaps.
Have to say, on the back of the rise over the last few days I fully expected this to go over £6.

Await results and news on the next buyback plans.

Oil and gas companies have taken a hammering on the stock market over the last few years, mainly because the big funds, insurance companies etc starting scaling down, and putting money into "ethical/green" investments. Reality setting in that it is some way off before these businesses will become productive enough to scale back on other sources of energy.

And on the subject of Boris, would we have achieved the Brexit result without him. The EU had Teresa stitched up, but Boris sorted them out. Sadly, Cummings is after revenge, and the "remainers" have never forgiven him, and seizing there opportunity. Don't know what he has done to upset David Davis though, he was a leaver.

Perhaps you would prefer someone more like John Major.

The tories, and these pork pier's would do well to remember the pulling power of Boris, and none of the northern red wall seats would have been won without him.

They only bought 70 - about £300 a piece!

Just tried to buy on both II and XO. Firstly, on II put in order for 5k - 86.7p to buy. Tried XO for 20k at same time - 91.7p. Reduced that to 10k and got quoted 86.7p. Bought that and then back onto II and got the 5k at 86.7p.

Happy with that, but still want another 5k, and they have upped the price to 87.6, will try again later.

Sure my two buys will go down as sells.

I contacted ii this afternoon by their securemail and someone named Nicola replied quite quickly to say they never do lend out stock.

I have sent an email to III requesting them to advise me if it is their practice to lend out nominee holdings. Will do the same with Jarvis and IG.
