It does beg the question, why do we need 9 directors to run a company where so little is going on?
Surely there cant actually be anything for most of them to do, apart from voting on what their next years salary's and share bonuses are?
Added 2 years ago - could have saved a quid!!
IMO Royston is incorporated in the share price at nil value, so any disappointing news should have a minimal effect on the share price, but we all know that the market over-reacts. buy and hold is my long term strategy, dont worry about the dips unless you are on margins. News not far away.
Russell.
That's not how I read it. PL is to receive a one off $1.5m payment in return for waiving the annual interest of about $2.1m pa to end of 2024, and we get 2025 thrown in for free. Pl also appears to be taking a gamble that Atome will rise in value by taking an option to have $2.6m of the loan repaid by way of Atome shares, at today's price.
Looks good to me, or am I missing something?
I wonder if some of these investors are after the nice divi due on Friday (ex divi date). Certainly been a lot of trades.
This looks like a company going places IMHO.
Anyone aware of any reasons apart from the fact that there is a such a massive disconnect between the share price and the net asset valuation?
Unloved share. Argentina coming into its own , Louisiana contributing again, ATOME holding, and Paraquay play . Profit making company.
I will continue to accumulate and wait for the market to wake up.
Crazy.
To be fair to Boris, he is the man at the top, basically doing the PR. He has teams of advisors who should be doing their homework on this, making sure it all stacks up, and then making a case to the PM. Perhaps they are.
President is an unloved stock, simple as that. They hold 28% of ATOM, so eventually that must start to come into play if ATOM keeps its upward trajectory. It will become a cheap way of buying into ATOM, if nothing else.
AIMO.
Haha.
I have a sneaky feeling that City are going to bottle it - could do with another tough game against the Real Madrid next week to drain them a bit. Whatever happens, its been a fantastic season for the reds.
We could do with some of that winning mentality in PPC.
Onwards and upwards.
I can tell you, NicetoMichu, that I am in for the journey with ATOM so won't be selling up any time soon.
I see buying more PPC as a cheap way of holding ATOM, so if this sp holds at these levels I will look to top up. I bought in here two years ago, and they have not moved an inch in that time, even taking the ATOM divi into account - but I think this could be our year.
AIMO DYOR
He who dares wins.
YNWA - come on Liverpool, I have £20 on the quadruple at 150/1. I have promised to take Mrs Sprout away at Xmas if I collect.
Wow, everyone wants in on ATOM, in case its the next big thing!!
And we lucky PPC shareholders got ours for free.
I wasn't expecting my words to have such an immediate impact.
Onwards and upwards, haha.
may be our saviour. SP flying and we hold 28%.
Nothing seems to be reflected in the PPC share price - hopefully before long the market will catch on.
Bargain prices for the believers.
AIMO.
And don't forget that we own 28% of ATOM, which is rising nicely.
Someone agrees with you, and putting their money up.
I have to say I haven't listened in to any of his appearances on CNN lately, but he used to bang on about buying back shares rather than more drilling when oil and gas prices were rock bottom - particularly gas in Canada. At the time it made sense.
His theme was buy back the shares and take the company private (avoid all the regulation etc). But if I was looking at buying into a company, the last one I would invest in is one that I believe is going to go private, as there is then no market for your shares.
Buy on rumour sell on news, perhaps.
Have to say, on the back of the rise over the last few days I fully expected this to go over £6.
Await results and news on the next buyback plans.
Oil and gas companies have taken a hammering on the stock market over the last few years, mainly because the big funds, insurance companies etc starting scaling down, and putting money into "ethical/green" investments. Reality setting in that it is some way off before these businesses will become productive enough to scale back on other sources of energy.
And on the subject of Boris, would we have achieved the Brexit result without him. The EU had Teresa stitched up, but Boris sorted them out. Sadly, Cummings is after revenge, and the "remainers" have never forgiven him, and seizing there opportunity. Don't know what he has done to upset David Davis though, he was a leaver.
Perhaps you would prefer someone more like John Major.
The tories, and these pork pier's would do well to remember the pulling power of Boris, and none of the northern red wall seats would have been won without him.
