Good post, Westwood. Let’s see how the rivals compete over the weekend. I’ve been a pretty staunch defender of Cineworld and I sympathise with them, but they will need to present some communication to appease share holders.

The silver lining is that it is still set for cinema and they have avoided PVOD.

Really disappointed to read this. The new music video and podcast suggested Bond was remaining on track for November. There was so much promotion and articles in the media, to gather interest.

Hopefully we can have Cineworld mitigate this by presenting some positive news on debt covenant waivers early next week.

This opens up November for more movies to come forward.

Keep in mind Cineworld stated they have enough financing to go September as-is, it would be a national lockdown that would trigger further funding and this isn’t happening.

It would be great to receive some news from Cineworld on the debt covenant waivers.

Don’t forget, Vue cinema retrieved waivers for FOUR.

A leaked document identifies two vaccines which are expected to be available this year.

According to the document, the two vaccines are called Ambush and Triumph.

The report suggests November, next month the vaccine programme will start.

I've always stated, it's not about mass innoculation; it's about targetting the most vulnerable.

Covid isn't seasonal; the southern hemisphere saw some of the lowest levels of flu in history. Why? Because of the precautions introduced around covid.

Given the leak the BBC exposed that vaccines will be emergency signed-off for the midlands in time for next month, I don't want to be out when we also expect to hear from the BoD on the debt convenant waivers.

Johnht will be pleased that India is set to REOPEN its cinemas in October 15, as well. A huge audience after China. They are expecting to see a FULL recovery by Q1 2021 as well.

Question to leave you thinking about before you book the kids to cineworld, why did the studios push their 2020 catalogue of movies to 2021 for cinema? Why didn’t they go PVOD? You don’t need NZT to work that one out...

The movie stars usually get promotional bonus And takings from theatrical release. Justin Timberlake wasn’t happy when he didn’t receive this and was in fact not happy when the movie skipped theater and went, like Mulan, to flip in PVOD.

In short:

1. Big budgets and movie stars don’t want to take on PVOD projects.
2. Theatrical release generates $40BN before secondary and tertiary revenues like VOD and BLU-RAY.
3. PVOD encourages piracy and steals revenue. What’s as once poor quality camcorder copies of theaters is now 4K 5.1 surround sound rips to pirate sites.
4. The TV experience already exists. The cinema and theater model is about the experience of seeing it in high quality big screen and big sound system. Irreplaceable particulate IMAX at home.
5. Theater and cinematic screening is a great marketing device for up selling toys and merchandise. The same cannot be achieved for made for TV movies.

This is a great recovery play and Johnht is so confident he believes we will see box office recover to 85% of 2019 admissions when we go into 2021 in a few months time.

Don't forget Disney made up 50% of international global box office last year, generating $11 Billion in 2019.

Johnht says "S&P think that the admissions will be between 15-20% 2021"

This would imply a recovery to 85% of the 2019 revenues. Given 2021 is only a few months away, this is a great recovery play.

To put that into context, the share price in Jan 2020 was 225p, so if 85% of that could be achieved in 2021, that would represent a handsome recovery/gain.

I would imagine this could be used as part of the rent renegotiations and deferrals. A big confidence booster and something to appease lenders, too.

Whilst Cineworld awaits formal news, It is interesting to note that Vue cinema received a waiver for FOUR of their debt covenant tests to 31 August 2021.

Consider that Vue, AMC and Everyman cinema groups are ALL reporting similar losses and reductions in admissions, should remind you:

1. Cineworld is not exclusively impacted
2. Lenders will appreciate that market conditions are grave and this is a recovery play
3. Flexibility should be afforded for the next TWO debt test waivers
