Lithium mining in the Ore Mountains In addition to the Rhine Rift, there are other - albeit significantly smaller - lithium deposits in the Ore Mountains. In the tin forest, there could be around 125,000 tons in the mountain, according to investigations. Double the amount is suspected on the Czech side. In contrast to the situation under the Rhine, lithium in the Erzgebirge is supposed to be mined as hard rock in the classic way. Deutsche Lithium wants to start lithium mining in Zinnwald in 2025, and a year earlier - in 2024 - a factory for the production of battery-powered lithium hydroxide is to go into operation in Guben, Brandenburg. It would be the first converter in Europe, emphasizes company boss Dirk Harbecke. The Canadian company Rock Tech plans to produce 24,000 tons there annually. The "white gold" does not initially come from Germany, but from a mine in Canada. However, company boss Harbecke assures that "we will use German lithium if we can get it".

Don't know what they write?
I read everything, but nowhere did I find any mention of how they and CEZ want to obtain lithium from tin ores. EMH talks about "its" way, CEZ talks about CirkTech. It is a great pity that he does not speak the same language in this matter.

Next week, Solarworld's creditors can sell up to 25% of ZNWD's shares in exchange for a stake. Is it true? I wonder how the price will move. I'm rather waiting downwards, so it will be time to accumulate. Just my opinion ...
Surely you all follow the development of the preparation with interest lithium mining at Cínovec. In recent days,
a lot of information appeared in the public space on the state of preparation for mining and all started in full swing
administrative steps to make it clear whether real and economic mining. That will be decided
in the coming months and should definitely be clear on the start of mining no later than the first half of 2023.
If it turns out that lithium on Cínovec is extractable, then own mining could start in 2025. So we'll see
what will be the further development.

Babiš's governor wants to subsidize the lithium project from billions earmarked for the region ...
This is a confirmation that we hold good cards.

At the same time, this candidate for Minister of Finance also argues that the set contractual conditions are such that the Czech state (CEZ) will not even have the opportunity to influence the technology of mining, treatment and extraction of ore concentrates, as well as subsequent metallurgical processing. According to Michalik, this is still in the hands of Australian shareholders of Geomet (and their suppliers), who hold 49 percent of the shares.
Among the strategic projects fighting for money from the Fund for Fair Transformation, those from smaller companies and creative mushrooms are missing. Preference was given to large industrial players, for others there will be challenges. Ústí nad Labem Region - This is what a wonderfully treading gear looks like on paper: local university staff and other experts will prepare the region for transformation, people leaving jobs in "dirty" energy will be kicked off by the employment office and CEZ and other large companies will prepare professions in the new industry for everyone which rides on a green wave of hydrogen or lithium.
Babiš on Twitter:
We have a research base and we also have clear plans for how we will process this lithium. Our main project is a gigafactory, which we want to build in the Ústí nad Labem region on the premises of the Prunérov power plant, which belongs to CEZ.
