Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
In the video, the geologist Vrbicky talks about the fact that if EMH wanted to sell their share, they would have already done so, but in his opinion they want to keep their share because they really believe in the success of the project and want to make money from it.

Lithium, which is a key raw material in the production of batteries, can thus become a similarly valuable raw material as oil. "The Czech Republic has the largest lithium deposits in Europe. If we start mining it soon and manage to implement a large strategic project in the form of the construction of a gigafactory (battery production factory, editor's note), we will have a huge competitive advantage," said the prime minister, emphasizing that the Czech Republic would have key components for the modern automotive industry in such a situation.

We want large-scale mining and processing of lithium and the production of batteries to begin in the Czech Republic as soon as possible. This could be a whole new impetus for our automotive sector, which accounts for 10% of our GDP. It is a unique chance for us to produce all the necessary components ourselves.

Will lithium production be economically viable?
All current studies predict growth in demand for lithium. We are currently working on the final feasibility study, which, among other things, should give a clear answer to this question. So far, everything indicates that the production of lithium in Cínovec will pay off.

EMH + ZNWD + maybe EMN working together makes sense to me. Yes I hold everyone's shares, yes it takes a long time, yes it's a risky investment, but I'm sitting on my hands and being patient! Either I will be very rich or I will have something to tell my grandchildren about. :-)
I wish you a nice weekend from the Czech Republic...
"The prerequisite for starting mining is the completion of the final feasibility study and its results, obtaining financing for the project and securing all the necessary permits," ČEZ spokesman Gazdík answers when asked under what conditions mining would be profitable. "We want to make a decision this year," he adds. At the same time, the fate of the other two lithium deposits in Cínovec and Horní Slavkov also depends on CEZ's decision. Both are former tailings ponds with tailings left over from tin and tungsten mining, so the raw material is already crushed and ground, just like in Chvaletice. These deposits are much smaller than the deep ones, in total they contain about 7.5 thousand tons of lithium ore. However, both could already be mined. The company Cínovecká deponie has a permit to mine at the Cínovecká tailings dump, while the company Sanaka Industry can mine at the tailings dump in Horní Slavkov. Both companies are controlled by RSJ Investments, which until last year belonged to Karel Janeček and currently has a majority stake in Libor Winkler, and it is waiting for ČEZ to decide. Building your own lithium processing plant would not be profitable. "We are currently waiting for the decision of the main player - the ČEZ energy group, which is having a feasibility study prepared," RSJ Investments spokeswoman Vendula Dittrichová confirms. "Our original intention is still valid, namely that we will only invest in deep mining or a lithium carbonate processing plant with a strategic partner," he adds. In addition, Libor Winkler already announced a year and a half ago that his company could completely abandon the project." However, instead of negotiating with Czech colleagues, ČEZ is turning rather across the ridge of the Ore Mountains to Germany, where it is also preparing to extract lithium from the same deposit running under the border "We are interested in cross-border cooperation and coordination. We are negotiating with German partners. We coordinate within permitting processes, for example in the case of seismic and hydrogeology. As for western Bohemia - we are in contact, but nothing specific has been agreed," says the spokesperson of the energy company.
There are hundreds of thousands of tons of lithium underground under the Ore Mountains, the company Geomet, jointly owned by CEZ and the Australian miner EMH, has been exploring Cínovec for several years. According to a published environmental impact assessment document, miners want to extract about 1.8 million tons of ore that contains lithium a year. The plan envisages that the ore would be crushed on site and then transported through pipelines for further processing. The raw material is used, among other things, in the production of batteries for electric cars. CEZ intends to build the battery factory on the site of the former lignite power plant in Prunérov in Chomutovskogo. CEZ has now officially withdrawn from drawing money from the just transformation fund for the gigafactory. "We are not abandoning the location or the gigafactory project, we will just look for other financial sources. But the lithium mining project is now more urgent," said Sona Holingerová, spokeswoman for CEZ. "The project is proceeding according to plan and we want to make a decision this year. The decision will be preceded by the completion of the final feasibility study and the preparation of project financing." An amount of roughly 15 billion crowns is reserved for the transformation of the Ústí Region. The money is to help modernize three regions where coal was mined in the past. Deep mining at Cínovec is being prepared by the company Geomet, majority owned by Severoceské doly. Last week, director Ivo Pegrímek presented the regional representatives with a proposal to supplement the principles of updating territorial development. The document will delineate the area where miners will deposit unused rock. It is expected that it will be in the Tušimice quarry in Chomutovska. "The remaining part of the non-magnetic fraction will be used for the establishment of excavated areas as part of the reclamation of the Tušimice Mine, and the co****-grained fraction will be traded for further use," said Pegrímek. Overburden from the mines is deposited in the same place. Pegrímek identified the benefits of lithium mining for the Ústí Region as the payment from the extraction of the mineral, donations to the municipalities where it is mined, and employment.

In state payments, CZK 31.7 million appeared as a novelty for compensation for the paid transfer of the mining infrastructure, including all its components and accessories, previously used mainly for the mining of tin and tungsten ores, which is located in the area of ??the protected deposit area in the Cínovec locality. It is not entirely clear whether Severoceské doly purchased the equipment in connection with the group's planned possible lithium mining at Cínovec. However, CEZ recently mentioned that it is preparing a pilot line for the processing of mined lithium ore.
According to official and behind-the-scenes information, CEZ wants to mine lithium through Geomet. The head of Severoceské doly Ivo Pegrímek, which belongs to CEZ and to which Geomet belongs, said last year that the company was ready to invest up to fourteen billion crowns in the project and that mining could start in three years.
