Gordon Stein, CFO of CleanTech Lithium, explains why CTL acquired the 23 Laguna Verde licenses. Watch the video here.
Two of those 10 grand buys at lunch time were mine but there was a third that wasn’t - was that you? Lol
Hi Emprex yes it’s a well known saying here in Newcastle so I’m guessing your Dad is a Geordie?
If Lombard will give Simes the day off he will be heading up here soon when this hits £1 and I’m hoping to get the photo in the Evening Chronicle. Ha ha
Promise me Simes that you will come and show your har se in Fenwicks window (Newcastle Northumberland St) when this hits £1 then?
I will if it gets to 20p
Deal? Ha ha
Early last year after spending almost 5 months locked down CF got into a bit of a pickle and had to refinance to survive.
Part of that deal was to pay back £70m of the amount borrowed before July 31st 2022.
Even with 12 weeks of the reporting period locked down they not only achieved this off but they paid it back early.
I think you are a breath of fresh air Simes compared to Paddyboy but I would love to know your thoughts on how they did this if the business is as bad as you constantly make out?
Hi nr98/Caramulo
Smorty are you still here?
Yes I follow this everyday and just starting to build a sizeable position.
Card Factory is my “baby” but Wrks is my bit on the side and here’s why…
Interim Results
RNS Number : 1631Z
21 January 2022
“The Board proposes to bring forward its review regarding dividends, with a view to recommending a final dividend for FY22 provided the preliminary results to be published in late July 2022 are in line with the forecast noted above.”
70p + written all over it in July IMO.
Morning PI.
We could all be wrong of course because it’s still early days but I think most people invested here would agree that the news 2 weeks ago (No equity raise and refinancing) was the turning point for CF.
It could have went either way and that was the gamble in which case the share price would now be considerably lower.
Lombard, Citadel and Simes got it wrong.
I really believe in CF and as a result my investment strategy was to keep averaging down. It doesn’t always work and is extremely risky.
Every couple of pence from 78p (ouch) I kept buying.
Indeed that dip below 40p was free money but so was under 50p and this time next year I am convinced that we will look back at anything in the 60p and dare I say it 70p range and think likewise.
I’m not buying anymore now though - the wife would have a fit! Ha ha
Onwards and upwards.
2 weeks ago (RNS 82081) we were informed that even though the shops were closed for 12 weeks of the reporting period the Bod have reduced the loan from £225m to £150m.
As a result of this we were also told that there is no need for an equity raise.
That was the real news.
The share price rose 30% from 45p to 60p and everyone was happy.
Yesterdays Final Results (RNS9801J) just reinforced everything that we already knew and more importantly no surprises.
If 60p is our new support level then I for one are happy.
Onwards and upwards.
It’s taken almost 18 months for the balance on my portfolio to change from RED to GREEN.
Eaten a lot of Greggs meal deals in that time whilst stalking all the Card Factory shops in the North East but it’s been worth it.
Never in doubt and it’s just the start.
I had a little dabble.
Sold £20k in 3 tranches but couldn’t get 60p so settled for late 59’s.
All a bit of fun and not for the feint hearted, I have been burnt too many times on other stocks so very wary.
We actually more or less know the results so not expecting fireworks on Tuesday.
It would be nice to get some info on the long awaited and much delayed ERP Implementation though.
Hi spights, yes all meant to confuse.
If you look carefully though you will see that Citadel craftily reduced theirs to just below the reporting level so it looks like they have closed.
https://shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00BMX64W89/
It’s actually bad news because the short has been increased.
Marshall Wace LLP up by 0.08%
It sure did, on the 7th of March.
Thank you, your order has been executed:
Bought 12738 CARD - CARD FACTORY PLC ORD
GBPO.01 at a price of 38.9816p
I started buying these from 78p when it dipped from 90p thinking that was as low as it was going to go! OUCH.
Kept buying as it dropped trying to lower my average and that is how I have ended up “all in”!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would drop to 38p but I kept the faith buying every couple of pence on the way down so all good.
Lombards short is not all bad and has been a great way of getting cheap shares.
It would be great to see it closed now though.
Don’t want to temp fate here but failing an all out war with Russia I just can’t see the share price dropping from here.
With an average of 56/57p Lombard need to buy back 4.3m shares and that will drive the share price up.
At 56p IMO the Upside for Card now vastly outweighs the downside.
Remember somebody has to sell for them to buy and without the share price rising significantly who would be foolish enough to sell? Not me.
Hi Wiscos part of the problem I’m guessing is that the whole experience is different if you use a PC and the Website compared to a mobile phone and the App?
Out of curiosity which do you use?
I use an IPhone 12 and both are poor but the App worse.
Try this for example:-
On a Friday afternoon create a personal card on either and you will be informed that the expected delivery date is the following day ie Saturday.
This is NEVER going to happen and is setting the CF team up to fail.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be a Friday to try this because it applies every day but the weekend is the worst case.
“Charlie” above defends this by stating I quote
“ Looking into your order we can see you select RoyalMail24, this service is similar to RoyalMail 1st class and we ordinarily expect it to take 1-3 working days to arrive.”
At no point does it state this on the website?
If you dig deep you can see it does state it can take “2 days”
Honestly mate it’s a shambles.
Try personalising a card and looking at it in your basket. The details are blank and if you don’t notice this then it will be delivered ehhm blank?
The App is riddled with bugs and with the exception of Apple pay has not had a bug fix for over 12 months?
Click on the link I posted above for feefo and filter so you only see 1 star complaints. The majority are ignored by “Charlie” and those that aren’t he/she blames the Customer even though they are known repeat problems tine and again.
I’m here because it is going to get better but it takes time and I’m patient. It will get better in time.
I’ve always tried to be honest with everything I write on this discussion board. I’m genuinely heavily invested here but the on line Customer Care is disgraceful.
The person who wrote that reply is the problem. I’m guessing they are working from home which IMO is also part of the problem.
Nobody is checking what is happening.
The ratings on Feefo has just went down from 4.3 to 4.2.
They don’t check daily, they check Mon to Friday only and 9 til 5.
A large number of the complaints on Feefo and all of the complaints on Trustpilot are ignored.
Everybody invested here should be aware of this and themselves as a shareholder complain.
There are known faults in both the App and website which are ignored. Another example is personalised cards. If you create one and amend it after it has been put in your basket your text is not saved so the card is delivered (late ofcourse) blank.
My son asked me the other day why I am so heavily invested when the online is so bad and my answer was that is exactly why I am invested!
With investment which is clearly happening then both the App and Website will become bullet proof and Card will prosper.
So frustrated atm with the on line “Customer Care” team though, it needs a really good shake up.
Here’s an even better one. (You may want to hide behind a cushion whilst reading this one…
“Not very good at all i ordered a mothers day card which never arrived. My mums last one as she has terminal cancer”
“ Charlie from Card Factory
Thank you for your review
We are sorry to hear you are yet to receive
your Card Factory order. Please may we ask
that you contact our @customer Service Team
on cfonline@cardfactory.co.uk with the subject
matter Feefo Review - Awaiting Order' and we
will look further into this. ^ Read less”
WOW
Good luck Hb but tbh you will find that the mail box is either not monitored or the same guy “Charlie” reads it so your message will ge ignored.
This has been going on for almost a year now and I keep hoping that the much delayed ERP Implementation and IT investment is going to fix things.
Here is an example of a complaint and how it is handled:-
Complaint.
“ Said next day delivery but still hasn’t arrived 5 days later”
Reply.
“Thank you for your review.
We are sorry to hear you order arrived later than expected. Looking into your order we can see you select RoyalMail24, this service is similar to RoyalMail 1st class and we ordinarily expect it to take 1-3 working days to arrive. RoyalMail24 is not a guaranteed next day service meaning your order has arrived within the lead stated online - https://www.cardfactory.co.uk/deliverydetails.html
If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Customer Service Team on cfonline@cardfactory.co.uk Read less“
So in a nutshell “Charlie” hasn’t even read the one line complaint properly.
Ehhhm the card after 5 days still HASN'T arrived?
Both the App and the Website clearly advertise “next day delivery” and there isn’t a RoyalMail24 option?
It’s a known fault on both the App and Website and should be fixed but just isn’t?
I have complained and complained with screen prints but I just get fobbed off.
Honestly, I’m so embarrassed at Card Factory’s (lack of) Customer Care for On Line Customers.
It really is shocking.
If you haven’t done this already then check out (and bookmark) the following 2 review websites.
Feefo

Trustpilot

CF do respond (badly) to the complaints on Feefo but they completely ignore those on Trustpilot?
It really isn’t good enough and I have complained to the CF senior managers via email and been promised they are listening to me but as yet still no change.
My complaints are:-
BOTH Feefo AND Trustpilot should be monitored and complaints dealt with on line and immediately..
The “Chatline” should be available 7 days a week (9-5?)
They should stop promising next day delivery (and sometimes charging additional postage fees!) when they clearly cannot satisfy this requirement.
Customers who are not happy with their purchase should be allowed to take said item into a CF shop of their choice for a full and immediate refund.
The CF App (and Website) should be updated at least once a month with bug fixes and performance improvements (like Moonpig and Funky Pigeon).
The way “Charlie” deals with Customers complaints is nothing short of shocking. There are known faults within the App ie next day delivery and when the item is not delivered blames the Customer for not reading the small print!
A large number of the 1 star complaints are ignored.
Terrible absolutely terrible.
Hang your head in shame “Charlie” if you are reading this.
On a positive note, it can only get better and that is why I am (so heavily) invested.
Yes Lorenzo the payments were always going to be made regardless to ‘pay off the debt’ Peter and Paul. There was never going to be any penalty of course and whilst the shops were open there was never going to be any dilution.
It’s not over yet of course and Lombard still have their short open at an average of around 57p
What will they do next?
Thanks PI nothing to celebrate yet though - my average is 60p!
Nice to get rid of my £100k+ paper loss though so might have a beer later.
