A recession might be on the way it might not be. Retailers might be hit hard they might not be.
Nobody actually knows, it’s all guess work.
Stevebt yes in hindsight you should have sold a big chunk of your Card shares a few weeks ago in the 60’s for “lower buy in bargains” but you didn’t and even if you did there is nothing to say that those wouldn’t have gone down also!
I thought I had “played a blinder” by selling a big chunk of my Card shares 2 weeks ago in the 60’s BUT I bought Wrks which have gone down more!
Still heavily in here of course and it is by far my biggest holding but we have to be patient. I really do think this share will do well and we will all be sitting pretty next year.
Good morning Fforestgwmp,
Like most people here no doubt I screen shot each of my trades at the time of execution.
To buy these I had to sell some of my Wrks and beloved Card (at a slight loss) but thought it was worth the risk.
Apart from listing the corresponding sells and buys (which could have been inspected yesterday) I’m not sure now how I can prove it.
Suffice to say if you check my posting history you will (hopefully) see I am a decent guy.
Not sure how long I will be in here because it is a punt - just being honest.
You are right though anyone can claim a purchase after the event so pointless me doing that now.
Catching falling knives is a dangerous investment strategy and the likelihood of getting the lowest price is unlikely. Wouldn’t recommend it because it’s not for the feint hearted but when it works it’s a great feeling.
First small purchase was around 17p on Tue but the majority around 15p yesterday.
Have a laugh at my expense guys because this could go either way and good luck regardless.
Hi PhilGekko
Totally agree my gut feeling is that this will come good. I’m an open book and see this as an opportunity.
289,108 bought for just shy of £45 grand.
The majority bought today and I’m happy to list the trades to show I’m not a Billy Bullsh hitter.
Hey you can all have a laugh at my expense if this goes wrong but if you want to make £ in this game you have to take risks.
I will be the first person to laugh at me if it does.
Let’s see.
*2020 !
Hi Sangijuelas1
yes that same idiot put around the same amount on AVCT when it was 22p back in March/April 2000.
and AML when it hit 30p.
They are just two of my success stories and believe me I have made some massive clangers on the way but like I say I’m a gambler (like most people here if they are honest) but no need to name call mate.
These boards are only interesting because everyone is different so be nice.
Not sure what a genuine investor is?
Share dealing is gambling isn’t it? Red/black/red/black.
Anyhow I see this (from here) as a good bet so I’m in.
Don’t know much about the Company but I have been watching this for a while and like a lot of you guys so that’s good enough for me.
Bought just under £30 grands worth average about 16p.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
C’mon Simes change the record man.
Long and Strong Carlost!
Just been for a swim down at Roker and thought I would park up for 10 mins outside the CF in Sunderland and cannot believe how busy it is.
I’ve never seen it this busy in all my 2 years of stalking.
Couldn’t resist to get out my van and go and have a nosy. Massive queue at the till and 3 or 4 deep at the Father’s Day section. Everyone buying cards/sweets/mugs /balloons etc etc.
earwigging at the staff quarters I ended up reading the humour section and they are definitely getting funnier.
One card caught my eye which read along the lines of “you share your birthday with 18 million other people - not so special now are you” maybe poetic licence with the 18 million but that’s a lot of birthdays every day isn’t it?
Cad is going nowhere and this time next year everyone invested here is going to be a happy bunny and those who haven’t bought in at this ridiculous price will wish they did.
All IMO of course.
Ironman Bolton in 2 weeks guys, I’m getting nervous wish me luck.
Lombard have reduced their Short again on Wed (15th) by 0.14% (478,000 shares).
This reduces their Short to 0.83% which is 2.8M shares.
Interesting that they are deciding to exit?
Why now?
So “Downing Strategic Micro-Cap Investment Trust” have purchased 3.12% of the shares in the Company for almost £1M.
That’s great news.
and reduced again by 0.03% last Friday. (102,000 shares).
2 days in a row last week Lombard reduced their Short when the share price was low 60’s.
Interesting especially since IMO their average is mid to high 50’s.
If they were prepared to reduce their Short (at a loss) when the share price was in the 60’s then they will be buying now in the 50’s won’t they?
Does anybody actually understand this game? Ha ha
I think the 2.5m shares sold in one hit could have been part of the reason.
Simes re-appeared at the same time so I assumed it was Lombard increasing their short but quite the opposite.
Lse buy/sell ratio is not very accurate at the best of times but £1.7m sells vs £290,000 buys wasn’t a good day.
Long term though none of this matters.
Interesting to see that Lombard reduced their Short by 0.19 last Thursday (9th) from 1.19 to 1.0.
Almost 650,000 shares bought back at Im guessing a loss of around 4p a share?
Kong1 I haven’t updated this table for over a year because I am no longer invested but this was accurate at the time.

I’m not negative Simes I’m honest and still heavily invested and accept Card warts and all. There is no points sweeping the problems I mentioned above under the table and looking at this through rose coloured spectacles.
Card has its problems but so does every single Company on the Stock Market.
I liked your contributions in the early days but realise now after 95 negative posts that you are not honest which is a shame. Are you an ex employee?
Hi Lorenzo I’m not going to lie, no I haven’t seen any clear strategy how the management are going to get back to pre- Covid earnings, it’s more gut feeling.
Quite the opposite in fact with their online offerings because atm they don’t seem even able to regularly update their App which atm IMO is dreadful.
The Online Customer care team are nothing short of dreadful and spend most of their time blaming the Customer for known software bugs eg Customised Cards with blank fields and “next day delivery” taking 5 days. The list is endless.
I’m a risk taker though and made my £ on far riskier shares so see Card (and Wrks) as a safe haven.
Pre-Covid there was no online presence as such so I just hope that is going to get better but the current management (from my limited communications with them) do not seem interested - or capable?
Their focus seems to on physical shops on the high st which (with the exception of over priced chocolate) I am really impressed with.
When I enter a Card Factory shop I get a warm feeling and that’s what keeps me invested.
Hope I’m right but time will tell.
Simes20 - so nobody here should assume that the Card Factory has any upside but it’s ok for you to assume it’s only got a downside?
I remember you saying this when the share price was in the low 40p range when I filled my boots!
Funnily enough you have reappeared with that 2.5 million sale so I’m guessing Lombard have increased their short?
Oh and also please put “IMO” in your texts or maybe “ILO” ! {smiley face}.
FWIW I think that the short term get rich quickly “bagger” companies are now few and far between.
When Covid struck and the shares dipped and unknown pharmaceutical companies appeared from nowhere then that was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I for one have benefitted from massively. More by fluke that planning but hey ho.
Card (and Wrks) for me is a nailed on 50% minimum gain from here…providing you are patient.
This time next year IMO they will both be £1+ but 75p+ will also be fine.
Hi PI I’m cycling in Europe with my pals. Full day cycling then quick shower then out for a few beers.
Back on Thursday!
Also (although outside) the saga employee mentioned above wasn’t wearing a mask and neither were the security guys and staff on top deck cleaning the boat.
It’s very relaxed over here similar to the UK and seems optional.
Nobody wears them at all in the bars and restaurants and the train although it states they are mandatory seems optional because loads of people (including me) didn’t wear one.
Ps only on the train because it was absolutely p I sing down and some of the guys cried off.
Anyhow apart from my sore a r se got nothing else to report. Got to go!
