The government is expected to say that daily testing can replace isolation for people who are fully vaccinated. According to the Commons order paper, Jo Churchill will be making a Commons statement, not Javid, but that could change.

Worldwide there are 400k cases per day. Presumably identified via some form of molecular diagnostics. We know some of these are in vaccinated people.

The more cases there are the more people will present to their doctors. People testing positive will in turn have a knock on effect because their contacts especially friends and family will want to test.

The number of cases doubles in the UK every 9 days. Hence 50k cases by 19 July. Just over a were later this will be 100k cases. A day. That is 700k a week.

Opening up will drive cases. That is the point - get a third peak out of the way in the summer. Case numbers will drive testing numbers. Allowing everyone to go back to normal - concerts, football etc will accelerate this.

Demand for tests is going to go up not down.

Prof Waffle did say they tested delta variant against two rivals. Innova would be logical (it is an assumption that whoever they contracted had the sense but given past experience.....). Testing against a better rival than innova might be risky if you don't know how good it is. However, we can hope that orient gene was the other.

If the tests had been named we would know but that would require share holders to be kept informed - perhaps they intend to publish but even then struggling to know why you wouldn't name them - anyone buying in large amounts will want to know - again discriminatory release of market important info

If there valuation is based on 21 and 22 revenues of <£5M then I'm guessing they might be out by someway.

The biggest fly in the current UK approach is evolution. If you exert a selection pressure then survival of the fittest cuts in. Any mutation that enables the virus to evade the benefit conferred by a vaccine will have an advantage. The whole idea that we in turn don't adapt our response and just go back to normal is just politics. As soon as even low levels of a new variant emerge we will need to respond and let's hope we learn how to do it properly. Did I mention test test test especially if you are not sure whether it us Covid, flu, RSV etc

I think Boris has sorted admitted to it. The NHS can cope with 1000 beds being occupied for 12 months. They cannot cope with "insert larger number" for three months. Therefore medium levels of infection to build up herd immunity - vaccines came along which kind of changed that dynamic but the principle is the same. There is a downside in that the more people with the disease means more deaths (probably) and almost certainly more morbidity. Its a trade off - benefits to opening up but also downsides.

Someone, somewhere suggested one way to navigate that conundrum was to "Test Test Test" but that only works if you get an accurate test.

I think what the sausage wielder is saying is that LFDs are flying out the door. For him (or her) this will not have any bearing on the share price is it was more generally known. Therefore no need for RNS.

He (in she) is therefore not expecting any change in SP when this is announced.
