I'm presuming the board understand CoGs. AS has already stated that is in the region of £2. Add in distribution etc I am not sure they will be able to drop the price to where your Board expect it to be. What will they do at that point?

On the Boards I have been involved with we open with discussion around compliance and risk. I think we would take the view that no testing is not an option. I've previously suggested twice per week - let's say £40. That is well below a days sick pay, keeps the business open and mitigates any potential H&S claim.

We need to keep an eye on convalescent plasma (CSL I've mentioned before). Data looking promising so thst establishes principle. Then we have MAbs. My concern is the first in man nature of affirmers and I don't think short cuts are an option - with plasma they went straight in to large trials.

I'm going to have to read up on the false negative stuff - thought I understood it last week but now....

I'm thinking of a scenario where the R number is 1. This means each infected (this was to be a zombie shooter) infects one person. If false negative rate is 10% then 9 infected are isolated. Does this then reduce the R number to 0.1?

Surowiecki talks about the four conditions that need to be in place to form a wise crowd:

The problem with bulletin board crowds is they break the first three of these rules.

Slightly (like a lot) of piste but I've been reading around this clotting issue. The virus binds to ACE receptors on blood vessels epithelium cells leading to clot formation - to the point where clinical staff have a term called covid toes.

Brings me back to the biomarker test being developed by a Awacta. I genuinely thought there would be a RNS this morning about it (insert winky big yellow emoji).

I'm intrigued if a ****tail of cheap generic drugs - dex, clopidigrel/aspirin and plenty of fluids will form the platform of treatment.

I suspect it will happen again with different names appearing. I'm actually now so long on Awacta that it is scary but my background is such that I used to being critical especially where warm feelings substitute for facts.

With Covid though they stated they had over 50 candidates. Once the general patent ends is there anything stopping someone else from getting in there first - noting of course that IP is not just payments.

That said affirmers are not their only game and we are all here at this SP because of the covid test which hopefully is done and dusted within the timeframe
