Avacta make their own reagents. Native antigen company are a competitor.

No company has hit market yet so when you say slow what are you comparing it to?

I'm thinking MAbs will get to market before affirmers - company blurb emphasises speed to developed. I think Avacta will have to also do extra steps to show affimers are safe in man which couid mean additional animal studies So to be successful affirmers will need to offer some other advantage. It is a double whammy - no one knows if a neutralising therapy of any type will work and the time to get avacta to market is extended. In that time multiple therapies will also have been tested so how do we know it will be needed. We are where we are. If anyone licences it I suspect this will want it as a package and the big milestone will be regulatory approval.

The trend tends to be towards licensing deals with upfront payments. Reduces risk for the larger company and blocks others out.

When it gets ontetesting is when a company has multiple products and a bidding war ensues.

For Avacta you could imagine them separating the therapeutics and diagnostics - they could find two different buyers prepared to pay top dollar.

Therapeutics have to demonstrate safety in man (and woman) - Stefin A is a biologically active molecule and I'd like to know about systemic exposure of dox with pro-dox but that's pharma for you. Huge risks but rewards are mind blowing - Glaxo started as a milk company I think.

I think they will end up with multi channel electrodes and a reader - bit like glucose monitors. The nice thing about the impedance approach is the quantative. Hopefully with the £10M they will pick some high value targets and bring in house.

E2 is an interesting one - been awhile but a rapid E2, LH, FSH measure would be really useful.
