Rose tinted retro scope. Hasn't worked out a free carry is actually still your money and if it goes down in value then you have lost money that you could have had. If he hadn't sold his shares at 8p they would still be worth 50% more. If he had the investing brain he would have sold at 45p.

But enough of complicated mathematics. It is good to see him back from his caravan holiday. Board not the same without his droit de seigneur approach and happy dispositian and I guess he will be updating his timeline as soon as he thinks its been forgotten. No worries. I've done something similar myself and its even tougher when considering the Tcell and immunotherapy stuff other companies are dealing with.

I'd be Quid's in if they annouceba partner and a timescale of 8 months - the science makes sense but I think time scales are unrealistic. Not an expert either.

They do have a partnership for an undisclosed therapy. Would be brilliant if this was affimer rather than precision based and going into phase 1.

Given we are testing different things then whatever happens to odx price doesn't affect avct. I wish them the best of luck

When racing yachts we have a saying "eyes in your own boat". What is happening in the land of antibody testing doesn't matter.

We all like to offer advice etc but I'm not putting much weight to anyone who doesn't know the difference between an antigen test and an antibody test - indeed it such a misteak that it is probably deliberate.

I agree that there are many companies developing Mabs - found another one yesterday. I'm guessing part of that is them building on their own expertise but maybe also that regulators also understand these types of products.

Affirmers are also proteins but may well be handled by the body in different ways. This would normally have to be documented. I think Avacta are comfortable with this but my expectation is that this ground work would need to be done. This extends the timelines from that for Mabs in my opinion

Then imagine a potential trial patient being asked do you want to test a band new drug or have this one we know works. Reduces recruitment rate. Then half way through that trial an even better comparator drug is identified - do you change trial design or continue to use your original drug.

Im thinking potential partners are looking to judge how effective the competition are before allocating £100Ms to as yet theoretically brilliant product.

In terms of benefits the ones I think matter are the higher solubilities enabling higher dosing but again it needs testing.

On a related note if they produce a drug as you state with no side effects it will be the first one in history.

I think they may well find a partner but my comment was I dont think it will hit the market in 8 months. They may well find a partner who wants to try it out in a less competitive arena first - RSV would be a potenrial choice albeit not a huge market. The covid thing has increased the awareness of potential at the very least.

In terms of timelines - its been about 3 months and so far what has been delivered is a therapy that has some activity in a petri dish.

In terms of Mabs my own belief that multiple companies are developing these. There safety profile as a class is known which probably supported rapid deployment to phase Ii and III studies. Their large scale manufacturing would also have many of the approvals required in place and experience of getting these right first time.

Avactas potential therapy uses a biologically active molecule as a scaffold and to my knowledge as never been used in mankind. Maybe they can skip animal testing - I am dubious of that since regulators like to ensure their arses are covered.

The link you supplied was for emergency use approval and it looks like it cuts in once the trials are finished. The point about patients being able to choose between a known beneficial therapy or entry in to a clinical trial is a good one - at moment I suspect trials have High recruitment rates cause standard of care is ****. If Mabs work that won't be the case should avacta ever get to the trial stage.

On a slightly different note - it doesn't matter about my personal feelings on animal testing. Companies have to comply with regulatory requirements. So it looks as if my pets are safe. Interesting subject for debate but in terms of investment argument a bit of a flogging a dead red herring.

Not sure they are wasting time. They have reported results from some preclinical and extended that work. Given how much developing a therapy would cost, the risks involved and the potential return I don't think it can happen that quickly. I think not including it in current valuations is appropriate - vaccines and effective test, track and trace will likely be here before the therapy as will the competition.

This is like watching a kettle I agree. I suspect IF it takes off then many of us will have to change our plans.

No news is worrying but I think they have to play it this way - if there is no news they cannot just make something up. I have yet to hit a single deadline in my life so I'm aware that there are limits to how precise they can be when forecasting developments.

Vaccines will not be 100% effective and not everyone will take one. Its an external factor and one to keep an eye on.

I feel your pain but I'm hanging in.

Given how leaky avacta and the goverment are and the share price hasn't moved .....
