Only one point to make here.

As Extreme E and Formula E are owned by the same owners/group and ABB are already supplying Formula E, whilst also having a decent world wide spread of EV charging stations.

Why is it that the owners/group have singed up with AFC, instead of extending the contract with an already established ABB.

I can only see 2 reasons.

1 The AFC system is more green.

2 The AFC system is more efficient (IE compact, self contained and more output per volume size.

No doubt as due diligence was being carried out, the rumour mill would have got into gear, so I think the main reason for this RNS, was to pre-empt any leaks.

Hopefully more details pointing toward which company is involved will also start to leak, leading to an RNs identifying the company.

His role will be advice, but with any none exec, often a benefit for their connections.

I think it is because we have seen/heard so many false dawns regarding AFC, but surely this time the Sun has really come out over the horizon.

From seeing/reading yesterdays RNS, my feelings went from, am I really seeing this, to looking good, to an every increasing feeling that this is truly the start of many possible ground changing news releases.

I am sure that over the next few days, institutional investors will be clambering on board, and as we know, if they do, we tend not so see evidence of this for 2 to 3 days and depending on how big the stake, sometimes longer whilst they build up their holdings.

So in addition to hopefully another contract RNS, I expect to see a volume holding RNS.

Formula E’s filings say a combined 476,000 people attended the 12 races in 2017-18, more than double the previous year. This season’s final numbers have not been published yet.

Comprehensive viewing figures are also difficult to pin down, but Formula E says that prior to its final races in Bern and New York, an average of 32.6m people globally had tuned in to watch the previous 10 rounds, suggesting a clear and growing fan base.

That is up from 27.1m in 2017-18 and 18.6m viewers the season before.

The above shows just how popular races involving electric power vehicles are becoming.

For years we have been quite rightly critical of AFC's lack of publicity, now we have the opportunity for the company's logo and technology to be on millions of TV screens, world wide.

Remember that on the AFC site, there is a mention of 'bespoke systems, tailored to the customers needs'

The bespoke word will no doubt catch many a potential customers attention.

Presumably the poster of that comment, has never made a typo.

Must admit that on first sight, I was slightly disappointed, as I was hoping for a multiple system contract, but after seeing the range of these races and obviously the PR I became more positive.

Then when I read the fully integrated system re the electrolysis producing the hydrogen, plus of course the use for the only emission (water), I became still more positive.

As to taking over 6 months from talks to contract, I wonder how may more of all those interested potential customers, are approaching contractual state.

It is up to ourselves, to judge what weight to put on the mute point he bought up.

Hopefully as these races will have, like all such events, to be planned well ahead, AFC Energy will require sufficient upfront (pre first race) payments, followed by tightly tied in subsequent monies.

Good publicity for both AFC and Extreme, but just imagine the bad PR for Extreme, if they either tried to back track or failed to uphold their part of the contract.

Whilst it is unusual for a sp moving RNS to be released whilst the market is open, I have seen such releases during market hours quite a few times in my 40 plus years of investing.

Several times a year, our village and surrounding areas have suffered ever increasing power cuts, often weather related.

These power cut increases appear to follow the increase in housing that is taking place.

On talking to a technician from the electricity supplier, I was informed that it was manly the problem with the main infrastructure, plus the sub stations not being able to cope with the ever increasing demand.

On rare occasions, these power cuts can last up to a couple of hours, not ideal if you are home charging your EV for the next days use.
With the take up of EV's growing month on month, independent off grid charging has to be the way to go, especially for the block customers, such as transport, fleet delivery and the like.

But I also think other issues will be discussed.

Whenever I used to see news items regarding fleets changing to EV's, plus the talk of shipping and the possibility of flight converting to electrical power, it always gave me an uplift concerning the future for AFC.

I have to admit that similar news items, now tend to depress me as far as AFC are concerned, especially when these articles are linked to EV charging units that are linked to other EV charging companies.

If/when AFC do start to sell their EV charging units, no doubt my feeling regarding conversion from burning fossil fuels for propulsion/energy to EV's will revert back to a more positive feeling.

And the result should be released as soon as the meeting closes, as no doubt the leak mill would be in overdrive, so the company should release an RNS by 1300 hrs at the latest.

A very similar article was in yesterdays Telegraph.

Obviously they are confident to buy at a premium of 11.11% of the closing mid-market price on 10 July 2020, ( in over 20 years of investing, I can't ever remember such a premium being paid)

Most of us accept, that no matter what market rules state, a nudge here, a wink there, is always the way info goes to the big boys.

All we PI's can do is read between the lines, and it reads that some good news is imminent.

The dilution is around 17%, not a problem if it leads to contracts.

Common sense says that today's sp, will push up over that 17%, but with AIM who knows.

Unless you are paying a subscription, that's what happens due to a very short timing out.

Years ago, it used to be a reasonable time, it then shortened to just a few seconds.

That's why very few people use its none subscription service.

I particularly like the mention of the East Coast, as I live only a few miles from Hull Docks and the Siemens facility at Alexandra Docks.

No doubt that when free ports come to fruition, Hull will be one of those listed.

To locate 'green energy' methodology adjacent to free ports makes sense.

A great location of not just AFC EV charges, but also for their other technology, IE Alkamen adopted by other companies to integrate in their own technology.

The main reason re bed and ISA, is that if you go down this route, your broker ( as mine did) gets a quote for the sale and buy both on hold for a time long enough for the holder to decide, yes or no.

If you go via your own dealing, the spread gap %, due to a longer delay can cost you more money.

The last bed/ISA I did through my broker took less that 20 seconds, from sell to buy back.

The reason I sent the question to the LSE was re clarify to those mentioning the placing being the reason.

I don't think the results put the company into a closed period re sensitive info The closed period would only apply to prevents dealings by those on the companies board plus others with insider knowledge.
