I said a while back that i would not mention Yellow again as all it does is to encourage him/her to post.

But one last attempt to try to persuade people not to encourage him/her.

If you count posts that mention any single poster, yellow has to be the most successful, as his/her posts are the most replied to.

There are many on here who contribute to the debate far better than yellow, but due to the continual attention he/she is given, those poster are pushed to the back.

i accept that everyone is entitled to reply to whomever they choose, but I am very close to ignoring this thread as it is getting beyond worth wading through yellow reply posts in order to read the good stuff.

remember reading a few reports a few years ago re HVO and it was shown that over time this type of fuel tended to reduce the engines life, due to the slight 'stickness'of the fuel. It was also less efficient and power reducing.

Can't remember where I read/saw these reports and progress may have improved use.

The only reason the RNS did not fill me with joy, is that I have no spare money to invest.

I feel the RNS is far more positive than negative.

Not that happy with the White family among others getting such a discount on the current price, but that is definitely countered by what I feel is a very positive 'The commercialisation of the Protos project and the development of the UK pipeline, which could be over 70 facilities, will form the springboard for the international expansion of the Powerhouse business model'.

70 facilities, with the possibility of more than one DMG on some sites, looks as positive as you can get, and with the odd day recently of a 5% plus drop in the sp, a double dilution for more working cash and bringing Peel more solidly on board can only be good.

The AFC logo will be all over the race areas, that is what they have gone into Extreme -E for, publicity.

I have no doubt by the time the first couple of races have been completed, also due to the race presenters discussing the power source used and how/who is the supplier, the number of those who know about AFC will increase multiple times.

I agree that many companies have and are still cutting back, but I don't think that is a fully justified excuse/reason as to why AFC have not sold any EV chargers, due to the simple fact that many companies are buying EV chargers, just not the AFC ones.

I would except and expect that the Covid situation had knocked the numbers, but surely we should have, after all Bond's enthusiastic comments (yet again) have sold at least 1.

Not to say I am negative regarding AFC's future, but just as many have stated, how many more paths are we going to be lead down, before we reach the promised land.

Also of course, many households have 2 or more cars.

Plus also most EV car owners who charge at home, will also require charge points away from home during their journeys.

In addition to the BBC programme re EV's, I have just read an eye-opening article (The Telegraph'..... ' 500 car charging points a day must be installed to hit fossil fuel deadline' (UK).

At present there are only 19,300 charging points ( a seperate report puts this number nearer 30,000), whereas 2.800.000 will be required by 2035 in order to meet the Governments deadline (end of sales petrol/diesel and plus in hybrids.

And if the Government bring the deadline forward to 2030, obviously the roll out will have to increase by 50%, plus I doubt that the current rate is anywhere near 500 per day, so catch up is needed.

Whilst as we all know, government deadlines are very rarely met, but with the world pushing ever harder for greener energy, and the climate change forces, you can bet that every attempt will be made to make at least the 2035 deadline.

I appreciate and agree that the future for AFC is down a variety of routes and that the general chat is moving away from EV charging points, but with such a huge market, the EV charging route can be a gold mine for the company.

The market is there, lets just hope the company is ready to take a slice.

If hydrogen fuel for ships starts to look progressive, a few PHE DMG's situated near ports, especially free ports that will attract businesses, it could be a win win for the company.

Apart from being situated near to such companies that export, PHE would be nicely situated to take advantage of any imports of waste plastics that are likely to be returned from those countries that are now refusing and rejecting the plastic waste that the UK has already shipped abroad.

Over the last couple of months, a few ships have trialled a system where there is no crew on board and the ships are controlled remotely.

As we know, the fuel used for propulsion is also coming under scrutiny.

It has been calculated, that to complete a 31 day trip, from Asia to Europe, the OOCL (worlds biggest cargo ship) 100,000 batteries would be required, no size given for these batteries, but it would equate to 40% of it's cargo.

However studies have shown, that as in aviation, hydrogen fuel cells converting hydrogen to electricity, could deliver enough energy in a small volume to get around this difficulty, even for the worlds biggest ships.

Coupled with the very low polluting and CO'2 footprint of Hydrogen, surely this has to be the future for the bulk transportation of goods.

Have no idea of the value this could bring to producers of hydrogen, but if PHE got even 1%, surely it would be a massive fillip to the company

It's both a sale and a showcase.

As I said earlier, contract RNS's that do not give info re value are in a very small minority.

As to the possibility of unit supplied at cost, I would not have a problem, as this contract will be yet another (and more valuable) window to the world of publicity as will be the contract with Exsteme-E.
Exsteme -e being more in the public eye, whereas this latest contract will be noticed more by the big players in the field of fuel cells.

Often been and posted re negative view of AFC, but at the moment, I have never been as positive as today.

Thinking deeper, as we all are aware, that when it comes to Germany, they tend to buy in house far more than other countries do (UK tend to allow most of their technology companies to sell abroad first, then play UK catch up) so for AFC to be chosen above German Hydrogen type companies, is a very big positive, which will no doubt be noticed by other countries.

The following is a list of German Hydrogen fuel cell connected companies...............Siemens and SiemensWestinghouse (submarines and stationary SOFC), DaimlerChrysler, Opel, Audi, BMW, VW, MAN, MTU CFC Solutions (stationary MCFC), Umicore (MEAs), Smart Fuel Cell (portable DMFC), Ballard (PEMFC), Proton Motor (PEMFC), Vaillant (CHP), ...

I accept that not all the above would have fitted into the slot of AFC, but just look at some of the names, several that could easily swallow AFC.

You state, '1 end unit for end of 2021' as if its a long time span.

As I have been invested since the company floated, and have seen far too many, false dawns, this is not another. To be completed, in situ up and running withing 15 months, it quite a reasonable time target.

To take you 'balloon comment' this has to be the busting of a stationary balloon, zooming off ever upward.

I do though agree with Desertwolfch, that it would have been better news, with a value of contract mentions, as is the norm with most contracts.

And whilst we await end of 2021 for the contract fulfilment, we can I am certain look forward to several further contracts.

He might have built up many contacts as Trade Secretary, but in all his years connected to AFC Energy, I can not think of one good thing/act that he did.

Not saying he won't be a benefit to PHE, but to do so, he has to up his game.

Most EV batteries are still putting out 85% when they are 10 years old.

Once they reach the stage of replacement, many will be put to base electric storage use.

Also a high percentage of an EV battery can be re-cycled, and with the life of such batteries being improved constantly, their carbon footprint will probably end up far cheaper than other fuels.

Read similar when EV's were first being discussed.
No doubt the same was said when the first internal combustion engine was invented (mind you they were right there).

I think that all forms of transport that uses none fully 100% power is bad for the planet.

Be nice if/when we come to a point when all we can legitimately discuss is, after conquering all the markets that AFC look now to be aiming at, Where Next.
