Total decoms10 Nov 2019 16:25
The majority of the decoms don’t start until 2030 I think it is,and I believe it is around the £550M figure in total but after reading some proposed decommissioning plans from marathon it reads to me that the OGA are more and more in favour with leaving the majority of infastruvture where it is,this is due to safety with it being very dangerous for divers to remove such things from the sea bed,And then there is the damage to marine life Through removing large parts of their habitat.
Remember the massive tax relief which will be involved here and it is us tax payers who foot the bill.
The OGA are looking to maximise recovery in abandoned, and undeveloped smaller oil fields through ‘hubs’ so they are making huge moves to reduce decoms to attract new development.
I think the actual target was to half decom costs for all of the North Sea fields.
Current cash flow is over $100M a year after tax and abex and we have a Mcap of £230M this is a cheap company even if we didn’t have around $300m of unrestricted cash on the balance sheet but the fact we do is absolutely mind blowing.
The fact we could be producing 50kboepd by 2021 with another acquisition and area and tain online makes me not care about decoms one bit.
Incredible value here.
