A fundraise is imv inevitable. Rather than now saving costs Budd stated extra money would be spent on trying to promote GDR products. Not sure how you can lay off the R&D staff to reduce costs and there’s no point in keeping them in the payroll if they’re not actually carrying out worthwhile work for the future.
So, I’ll lean in the other direction and, based on my own belief that the next news regarding sales is going to be bad, I feel leaving a fund raise until March, April, May 2023 would be extremely risky. GDR won’t know what realistic and regular revenue is going to come through the coffers from AIHL until 6 months down the track - and that’s only once there has been wide spread adoption of the machines. There are no guarantees it will be taken up in hospitals the instant NICE publish their guidance on best practice so, again, based on more negative news flow over the next two months, I think Gilham and Budd will need to raise from a stronger position ie when they’ve still got some money in the bank rather than when they’re still unsure about regular income and Budd might have to take a pay cut :)
The biggest mistake over these last three years was the amount of money wasted on the POC Covid kit. It’s cost millions and has generated zero income. It has also exacerbated GDR’s financial weakness because they’ve now spent a lot of money on hiring a sales team who have to date only cost the company money and they have achieved nothing. No one is buying from GDR directly so once the distribution deals have been set up what have our sales personnel spent their time doing for the company?
Commercialisation of GDR products has been the CEO’s focus for the past three years but…he’s proved to the world he doesn’t have a clue how to achieve it.
Sorry to throw an alternative view in that goes against the current tide but having been here quite a while I’m not overly confident Budd has got everything lined up to deliver success with in the next 6 months! AIHL and Stroke marker tests are great and will have their day but…I fear share holders here have more pain to go through before things finally start adding up.
My own hope is there will be an early takeover bid but I know many think that’s unlikely until revenue is proven.
