DTP, I stand to be corrected but I believe the answer to your question could be to do with the oil price hedging the company has in place. Such agreements obviously enhance financial predictability but, if I am right, it could mean that the company has missed out on the explosive increase in oil price. I recall $60 bbl but not the period of time or percentage of production. As I say, I am not saying this is certainly the reason.

Just for fun, 30% down since the first Brexit vote in March 2016. Basket of junior miners plus 2700% over the same period. That's not moaning, that's fact. Also, why is gLR engaging with obsure lenders rather than raising finance with specialist mining financial backers? CB should immediately resign from either his Chairman/CEO and appoint somebody else. Also, full details (not just the headlines) of the recent financial agreement should be disclosed immediately. A copy of the agreement would be ideal.

Lots of prior history with Beaufort Securities, HB Markets and the FCA. do your own research on that history please. Meanwhile:

1. What due diligence did the board undertake on Sanderson, Tanvier Malik and the Beaufort/HB Markets history?

2. Is Sanderson FCA-authorised now, or acting purely as principal investor/lender?

3. Who is the beneficial owner of the capital advanced?

4. Are there any associates, concert parties, side letters, hedging arrangements, share-lending arrangements, or short-selling arrangements?

5. What is the governing law and jurisdiction of the loan agreement?

6. Can Sanderson transfer the loan, conversion rights, warrants or fee-share rights?

7. Is there any relationship between Sanderson and any GLR director, adviser, broker, consultant or major shareholder?

'Moaners'? What is your definition of one of those? I see many here stating facts that are not easy to read. Are they 'moaners' in your opinion?

Just checked how things have been over the last 9 years. £100 invested in GLR then is now worth £15 (subject to deal size and a 13% spread). £100 invested in Newmont Mining now worth £214. £100 invested in BHP now worth £230. Need a 15 bagger from here for GLR just to catch up with the value of these 2 majors. Truly shocking. Please do not 'shoot' me for telling the truth. The latter hurts me as much as it does anyone else. For LTSHs, a 6 bagger from here would not be a win although I am sure it would feel better than how they feel now since they would be only 10% short of breakeven over 9 years (subject to the 13% spread). GLR needs a wash and brush up. A fresh approach, up to date communications and better corporate structure and governance. The damage has been done as can be seen via the data above but it is important to to make the most of things from here on.

Fair enough JL, fair enough but see the cut and paste of my post from 3 March below. Also bear in mind the large increases in remuneration for Board members here - for what exactly? I shall look at the terms of any options as well in due course and report back. We don't want to see evidence of no/low skin in the game combined with scope to walk off with loads of cash as and when via options. No, no, no!

Agree BS and as I sketched yesterday, we shareholders need over a 6 bagger from here to catch up with a sector tracker based on performance over the last 5 years. We have heard many stories over the period of imminent this and imminent that but the numbers are as they are ladies and gents and we have to own as shareholders that we have risked capital over the last 5 years and it has been a bad choice. The opportunity cost has been big and now we need to do brilliantly just to catch up. I want to see the company taking communications much more seriously. I want to see up to date and pertinent information clearly stated on its website. I want to see all directors buying shares with their own money. I want less of the whispers and rumours that fuel life here day to day. Let's have some clarity - good or bad. Whatever the story is, let's have it clearly and accurately stated for all to see. Remember, we have to do brilliantly from here just to catch up if we are long term shareholders. So far, we have lost and it has not been worth the risk investing here. That's fine as we are all aware this is a risky sector and size accordingly but at least do the basics well CB and crew.

:-) sure, how exciting. GLR has 'rallied' to be only 5.88% down 2026 to date whilst an etf of juniors is up 17% over the same period. A lovely 18% spread at the close too. The share is down 17% since the first Brexit vote 10 years ago. Hope is not a strategy Chri5p. This company needs a shake up. Just look at the variance between your eternal optimism and the realities I have stated here which anyone can reference. Liquidity is very poor largely due to the lack of IIs. Have you ever considered cause and effect Chri5p? Of course this company has interesting prospects but, as I have said before as part of a list, wht has Board remuneration increased so much of late with this backdrop? Why does the CFO own so few shares? This is a discussion board. It is fine to pose uncomfortable questions. It is our capital at risk. We don't have any (free) options. We have opportunity cost. We have an 18% spread to deal with. We are entitled to represent ourselves robustly and influence the agenda. This company needs a shake up and that has absolutely nothing to do with 'deramping' chance would be a fine thing. How much lower can we go?

'Could be wrong in selling up'? No, a 13.33% spread and many cannot afford that. The Hotel California of listed companies and totally unnecessary. GLR is in a chicken and egg situation, more institutional investors from places such as small cap explorer funds would improve liquidity, reduce the spread and improve matters but would also put the Board under institutional grade scruntiny (which has nothing at all to do with 'feelings'). Perhaps this is what the Board do not want.

:-) :-) What needs to happen in order for you to emotionally detatch from the Board of this Company and change to making clear, crisp and objective comment? Is CB your dad or something? There are many things the Board can and should do now to improve things and I have cleared stated a few already. Why are they not doing that? They paid themselves almost double the year before in the latest company year. This is a listed business. If they did their duty properly and earned their (vastly) increased remuneration, we would end up with a better and more attractive business. What's wrong with that? Why isn't it being done? Having a CEO and Chairman the same person does not help. This business needs a shake up. We can all see it. The Corporate Governance is not good enough and must improve. Again, a 13% spread makes GLR the Hotel California of listed businesses Chri5p. Accusing people of 'moaning' as a cover all won't change management's behaviour.They all need to know that shareholders are not happy and why.

Chi5p, there are significant corporate governance issues here to discuss that any new or current investor should consider. I stated a few of them yesterday. Why are you so keen to brush these away and encourage folk to trust management but not verify? Why is that? Luansobe was presented as a target to be sold shortly back at the AGM 2023. When are you going to deliver the scrutiny needed here? The objectivity? Folk who have had enough can't just leave and this is a function of what I am saying. 12% spreads are impossible for many to take on the chin. Management can improve the environment if they wish to. Why don't they?

Yes indeed, Add. Later this month, there will be some extremely rich people created. There will also be some here forced to crystallise losses at 28p having held for years whilst having an opportunity cost in so doing. I can't put my thoughts here but I am sure the picture is clear. Aside from that, no Western bidder and that is overwhelmingly the case of late with greenfield sites that can create new production. It seems that only the Chinese are prepared to put in the money and effort needed with that whilst Western outfits merge with one another in a sort of zero sum game production wise. You are entitled to your feelings and I am sure nobody here wishes to hurt those. More broadly, shareholders of listed companies are entitled to expect fair treatment in return for risking their capital. An up to date succinct corporate presentation is just basic hygene for a listed business. Why don't we have one? Why has Board remuneration increased so much? Why does the FD only own shares worth about £3,000? Why is the CEO and Chairman the same person?

From the Annual Report, the Board's pay went up from £153,000 to £283,500. Messrs Bird and Silberstein enjoyed bonuses of £60,000 and £32,000 respectively. Meanwhile. the share price fell by around 16% over the same period whilst the sector overall was rallying strongly. What were they doing to justify such a large increase in remuneration? We know they were not updating the corporate presentation.

Oh boy, that sounds like a bit of cancel culture to me Chri5p. Asking for an up to date and transparent synopsis of a listed company to be posted on the company website is too much to ask and makes one a 'Moaning Minnie'? Take a listen to yourself, potential new investors having to hope for the best rather than being easily able to access a current synopsis whilst long term shareholders should 'shut up'. What's wrong with pure transparency and clarity? Surely this would help bring the confidence that you yourself say is missing and would like to see. This confidence has to be earned Chri5p. It can't be compelled.
