Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Not likely to be a permanent loss of capital though. Frustrating but stayed focused. Nobody doubts the calibre of the assets. In addition, there is a good alignment between the interests of directors and folk like us holding shares. One foot in front of the other.
With respect Bob, we don't know what current production is. It could be well in excess of 2000 bbl/d. I agree that confirmation would be ideal. 15 December would be timely and consistent. Anything later or, worse still, no forward guidance before 2024, well, that would be very disappointing. For now, let's give Mr Cowan the benefit of any doubt. I think he is doing some good work along with Mr Gupta. I note that the aforementioned worked with the Chairman Mr Richardson in a previous life.
Penny stock? Penny stock referred to in a Reuters article 4 months ago with BHP and Newmont as major shareholders? Whatever you say buddy.
What about Mr Cowan, Mr Richardson and Mr Gaffney and the rest of the Board then? Are they overseeing JV discussions with a large oil company that are either bogus or not even happening? Mr Cowan quoted in RNS saying JV discussions on-going. Did you check Mr Cowan's CV? A solid, field-based oilman through and through. As investors, what reasons have we to doubt his comments? He's getting paid in shares at the moment not cash.
Can we stop please Tesla1? Solgold is giving most of us a sore head right now. Could you give us some light relief? Red can do what he wants. He's come up with many good things over the years. Nobody's perfect and caveat emptor always applies to buying things...shares included.
COPL does own a corroborated ca 1 billion barrels of oil in addition to its other proven reserves. I don't think this video refers to that sufficiently. Of course it is true that the JV may or may not happen as it stands. That is not to say that JV could not happen with another party once exclusivity expires. Of course it is also true that the current funding package is ruinous. An RBL will be much easier to secure as/when it is beyond reasonable doubt that the GGS and other new infrastructure is working as intended and increasing production will result. I found the video not quite as balanced as some did.
On a fully diluted basis, their bonds and warrants represent a total interest of 51% of the outstanding common shares according to a reference I just read elsewhere. Just supposing production is good and/or the JV happens, Anavio has a route to very significant control of COPL, particularly if it were to work in conjunction with another party. If those 30 million were indeed sold, who bought them?
Many apologies Tesla1. It was the US based active junior miners fund at BlackRock being referenced rather than the iShares section of the company where the shares of companies such as Solgold have to be sold as and when their share price falls so that the market cap is no longer big enough to qualify for the share universe being tracked.
Tesla1, That's a little extreme don't you think? The point RK made about the whole sector being in the doldrums is perfectly true as well. I note that M&A is picking up in the sector. I also read recently that many fund managers including Jupiter and BlackRock expect this to accelerate over the next 8 months. 20 odd p is not the right price for Alpala let alone the whole of Solgold.
