We look at things a little differently, but as RM says, it's about balances. Your last sentence IMO has it about right, but delivering quality services at sustainable cost is not quite all the story. Those services must be seen to achieve positive outcomes for the recipients. Otherwise, those services may be deemed desirable, but may be of questionable value. I would modify your last sentence to........achieving positive outcomes at sustainable cost. A small change of emphasis, but a one of value IMO.
Right now, the most positive outcome for me, would be a covid-19 vaccine as vulnerable isolation is resulting in too much wittering from me. That will get this post recommended! LoL!

Agree with you both, but for public workers (particularly health), should it not instead or also be based on increased and /improved positive outcomes? Money is not always the best measure of public benefit.

Some of you big guns have had fun. When in SA, the nearest I got was to try the guns of our Mine Captain, a 38 revolver and 44 magnum if I recall rightly. The former was OK, but he made up his own bullets for the latter and it was like firing a cannon! OK for him as he was twice my weight!

Confusion on SP all over. This page shows 58.5 at close as does ii, but bid/ask in last few minutes here and on NEX show large trades in last few minutes of trading and suggest SP finished at 62.5 on the graph, 66.5 on bid/ask and 65.5 on NEX. LSE abacus bust again or AIM roulette wheel gone mad? Whatever, it's in the right direction. Happy days!

I can't comment upon the brokers you mention and others hear may know more. For what it is worth, I have used Interactive Investor for the past 9 years for online trading with no problems whatsoever, using a trading ans ISA account. I only use the latter now and have had no problems with SGZ options promptly notified and acted on as a 'corporate action' requiring my attention. Cost £9.99 a month with one free trade and more trades at £7.99.

You could ask the 'By the Way Hostal', a walkers hostel near the lower station that I used last time. Basic, but clean, cheap and cheerful. I stayed in the in the hostel. Dogs OK if you stay in the huts or cabins, but not in the hostel, Hobbit Houses or chalets. Hope that helps.

Phoebus has a point, but the nadir of SP may have little to do with imminent production and more to do with events and speculation. If my memory serves me, about 10 years ago, was not Scotgold the equivalent of about £7, now ~60p nearing production and Anglelsey Mining about 80p, now ~2p and no closer to production? The AIM casino rolls on! Only good timing and DYOR matters.
