Average, most Fi will advise you to be prepared to be invested in a share for around 5 years, what they can't tell you is which 5 years or what share, anyone that's been invested here over the last 5 years will have lost a lot of money and the problem is, we don't know for sure what the next 5 years will be like, it's all a bit of a gamble and that's upto everyone to decide for themselves

Wow, this has jumped up to first place in my portfolio now ahead of lgen which was dissapointing, will be adding here sometime after exdiv

Guys i wouldn't want to sell this share, as it's been such a good dividend payer and hopefully it will improve, but not sure i would want to add here either unless things improve, if you look at the chart for the last 3 years it's clear that this share has been on a steady decline, of course there are many reasons for that, but i would like to see which direction the new C.E.O will take this first, and not convinced an increase in dividends is the best right way to go when the share price is dropping

Just my thoughts i'm a bit cautious with shares after getting my fingers burnt a few times, but hopefully everything will get better here

This dropped on results day last year, then started climbing back up to xdiv day, hopefully the worst is over now and it will start rising again

Not great unfortunately , i did try to give a possible warning with my post on the 1st march, based on what happened to the share price on results day last year, and by the way the share price was currently performing, it is a bit disappointing and i'm not going to pretend otherwise, total returns are very important, let's hope there's better times to come

Dan, nah never grumpy me mate, just being honest i think everyone would have liked to see this jump up a few notches today, I even smiled when i opened my water rates bill today, ok maybe i'm not being honest about that, but never mind tomorrow is another day, it's not over until the fat lady sings, do you think gutter maybe a fat lady ?

Hi Dan, yes it's good to see the mood improving here, even if we start pushing into the 80s that would be a good start, i remember when this dropped down to 86p and i thought it was a real good bargain at the time so doubled up on the number of shares here, I't would be good to think of that as a bargain once again, let's see what this year can bring

I'm sure some of you know this has been one of my favourite dividend shares for many years and still is at the moment, however i have to admit i'm disappointed with the current SP i expected it to be a lot higher at this time of year

2023 it reached a hight of 265.80 on the day before the results which was 08/03/23 then dropped down to 226.60 by the 17/03/23 before rising back up to 252.70 on the 24/03/23 3 days before exdiv after exdiv it then dropped down to 224.10 by the 04/05/23

Of course last year and this year have had their own problems so difficult to compare, taking inflation into account though the current share price is a bit underwhelming, let's hope things improve here

Garonne, just something for you to think about, RR is at a 5 year high and Vodafone is at a 5 year low, we also have 2 Wars going on high inflation and interest rates, a recession in Germany and the UK and elsewhere

But you have to decide what you think is the best decision for yourself, one very important rule is never invest more than you can afford to lose on any individual share, especially one that's been in decline for the last 5 years, hopefully this will get a lot better but it won't happen overnight, and theirs no guarantees with any shares, this may continue to be a disappointing under performing share as it's been for the last 5 years or it could change direction, who knows
