Bought some more today, it may drop further, but still a good buy and good yield at this price IMO

Acording to HL today's lacklustre zuK gdp figures and budget looming, plus the latest US/China trade war, seems like the general trend is downwards at the moment, but tomorrow is another day

Hi Phyl, well L&G is by far my largest share and source of dividend income, but i'm also invested in the other one's you mentioned plus some more, we can look back to see how they have performed in the past, but without the help of a good crystal ball i don't think anyone can know which will give the best returns in the future, but i do sleep better at night having a bit of diversification, do keep us informed on any changes you make, now is the time to enjoy the returns for many years of investing and accumulating here, so best of luck and good health to you, and hopefully all of us old codgers on here will also be rewarded

Hello nick, if you have cleared 20% after charges then you have done exceptionally well, so well done for that, i also sell some shares off when they have done well and suspect they might drop down, but it doesn't work well every time, a friend of mine has invested all of his money into lgen since 2008 kept reinvesting dividends and added on dips and done very well for himself, a bit too risky for myself putting everything into one stock but with hindsight i would have been better off, so there's pro's and cons for both strategy's, i have some shares i will occasionally trade and others i will keep holding for income, hopefully everything will keep rising but i'm also keeping some cash back for a possible correction and maybe pick up some bargains, anyway best of luck and hopefully the rest of the year will be a prosperous one

Nick, the brokers and the taxman must love you, if you frequently trade some you win some you lose, same with all gambling for every winner there's a loser, that's how the stock market works

Hello Sam, well let's hope that Gold's advisor works for M&G and has insider information, I hope this can rise to £3 but as with all shares I'm also mindful that it can also drop down, so it's up to everyone to make their own judgement on that one, personally I'm very happy to have this in my portfolio for the excellent dividend yield and any rise in the sp will be a bonus, fingers crossed it has more to give

Hello Lee, well i'm not sure about inevitably, if the stock market was that predictable we could all get very rich, but i also think there's a good chance of a knee jerk reaction around budget time, so i am also holding back cash for such an event, but as i'm already quite heavily invested here i would also be happy if it should keep rising, best of luck, don't think you would go far wrong investing here even at the current price

Dave, with the tax robbing budget ahead of us, my guess is it has further drop, so maybe a topping up oppurtunity, but I could be wrong

Strictly, you sound like your having some fun swapping between the insurers, and if it's working in your favour then good luck to you, one thing we haven't mentioned is shares can drop as well as rise, one bad set of results can cause a big loss of capital, so by spreading your investment across a few of the insurers can lesson the impact, putting all your money into one share is OK until it's not ok, at least that's my way of thinking

Most of us have realised what happens when you try the trading game, often the one you sell keeps rising and the one you buy drops, also you have the charges to pay, sorry Strictly I have to agree with Finley on that one, if you have confidence in the share you are invested in why risk it, but if you are lucky with it, good luck to you

Like some of you have mentioned, I only add here if and when the sp drops below my average, thay way your adding value. Also I compare the sp here before April exdiv each year, it would be nice to at least see the sp rise inline with inflation though, otherwise it's a reliable dividend stock to hold

Lgen is my the largest share in my portfolio and will probably remain so for the reliable dividend, but you have to admit this year in particular it's been lagging behind the other insurers aviva/mng/phnx to mention a few in regards to growth, let's see how it compares by next April exdiv time

Hello Dan, I hope you are well, I'm not going to lie to you this is not one of my better performing shares, as you know i doubled up on my number of shares some time back when they dropped down to 86p, so i have now sold that batch off, but i'm still holding on to the other 50% that i paid a lot more for, as you said it's already up around 20% from it's previous lows, so hopefully it's got more to give, i will keep holding the rest until the buybacks have completed and see where we are then

I don't know why Mole_man is so anti UK my UK dividend shares are providing an income to supplement my state pension while my funds are adding growth, which will give the best returns over the coming years remains to be seen
