Agree with you. This has the feel of a company called Timestrip that I was invested in. The 'lenders' wiped out the listed holding co and kept the IP rights and name. The idea was an irreversible colour strip for time sensitive products, ie drugs and food. Great idea. Timestrip is still trading, investors are still smarting.

General consensus is that Lofren will go. Sweden Dems should be king makers and whilst unaligned I assume their politics are more to the right than left. Some talk of new elections but I doubt this as someone will find a way to form a gov based on this election. Swedes have similar proportional rep system to Germany and how long did Merkel take to form a coalition?

The Social Dems (Left) had their best result in Norrbotten and for the Mods (Right) it was their worst County. It is clear where the political preference is here despite the overall outcome. Battles yet to come I suspect. There will not be any change of tack re Kallak so far as the County is concerned so it is left with the Government-as yet to be decided-to determine

I agree that (and hope) the Swedish Gov will follow due process, they are at least a mature democracy. I'm not sure mining has the focus we all might think it has as it accounts for a relatively small component of GDP. I suspect that the current coalition make up of the government isn't 4 square behind the mining lobby but the lobbying might have an effect. I have invested in BEM since the earliest days-one of the few good steers from former brokers Hoodless Brennan. I don't know if LKAB could buy Kallak if they wanted to-probably, but they already have iron ore mines in Sweden with good life spans so unless they wanted to prevent a competitor I doubt it. They could currently buy BEM for £30+m which no doubt they could afford

You need to understand the history of this site. First identified in the 1940's any organisation could have obtained a licence before BEM in 2006. The Kallak north and Kallak south prospects were identified by the Geological Survey of Sweden in the 1940s. In the late 1960s the SGU identified Kallak north as containing 92 million tonnes of ore and Kallak south as containing 29 million tonnes of ore at a grade of roughly 35%.

Why the biggest miner in Sweden didn't I can't say. Its been around since 1890 and is State owned since 1950-they can't have missed Kallak!

but there are 2 variables and a slight complication for UK PIs. The 2 variables are the discount to Newfields shares after the dilution-there is a real risk this could be below anticipated figure, the second is the Aus Dollar/Sterling exchange rate. The added complication is that your new shares are traded on ASX only so have to be held by and traded by a suitable broker-ie no simple on-line trading. For this reason though it looks like a no-brainer I'm going to hold back. GLA everyone.

This co. can't even do simple maths-they report a fall in cash burn from £1.1m to £1m as 11%-its a fall of 9%. It would be a rise of 11% if it went from 1 to 1.1. Says it all really.
