I have been saying for several months that Sweden's covid strategy was very risky. The government and Tegnell are coming under increasing pressure. Its relationship with China is strained. It has the feel of a country falling from grace, once held in high esteem. Whether the current administration is capable of engendering a recovery is debateable as they seem to be more the problem than the solution. I cannot see how they can get out of this spiral of decline without inflating the economy.

I can't understand why we just had 1 notice-they have shifted nearly 150m share-didn't do that on one day and certainly not on the 8th.

Yep, the last placing was at 35p and directors and non-exs bought £250k at this price. Landsdowne increased their holding via the placing (held 10% at the time) and looked to start selling in early May when the SP started its long decline but according to the issued TRs they still hold over 10%. Landsdowne have sold about 3% since May when the SP was circa 70p. They have made a profit on the placing but the ongoing pressure on the SP is a mystery

Not sure we can make a read through about a 2nd wave based on this administrations actions during the pandemic-it has been woeful. They have pretty well tripped over every decision made and the rush to get schools fully back was no different. They realised that schools simply weren't ready or had the capacity to accommodate all pupils with the social distancing rules and parents were resisting risking their children and themselves. If we avoid a second wave and an economic Armageddon it will have more to do with the vagaries of the virus than any thoughtful government action.

JL. I know there are not many posters on this site but would just like to say thanks for your v helpful posts each day. Thoroughly enjoy reading them. If you are not a successful investor the rest of us are definitely doomed!

Sweden seems to be mired in inertia, politically, economically and it's reaction to covid. Deaths now exceed 4,500 in a population of just 10m and cases appear to still be climbing exponentially . Swedes cannot cross the borders of Denmark and Norway without quarantine for fear of spreading the virus. When relaxed becomes complacent even the Swedes might push for change.

The permit trial for Kallak and Laver

Lars Hjälmered has asked me when i and the government intend to make the request **** about possible mining in Kallak and Laver.

The cases concerning the applied processing concessions for the kallak K No. 1 areas in Jokkmokk municipality and Laver K No. 1 in Älvsbyn municipality contain extensive documentation with several complex issues, such as trade-offs according to the Environmental Code between several different national interests. This obviously affects the length of proceedings.

However, the starting point for the government's handling is always that it should be done quickly, efficiently and without any legal certainty being followed. I cannot comment further at this time on when the dossiers are sufficiently prepared so that the request**** can be taken.

They did actual say virus treatment as follows:- Britain's largest rail franchise is using a disinfectant which it claims will kill coronavirus on surfaces for up to 30 days. Same info as put out by FILTA a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I don't know if Go-ahead is a customer.

One of advantages of posting on the BEM board is the quality of debate. Statistically, Sweden does have a very high death ration per population, largely driven, it seems, by deaths in the homes for the elderly. I have seen arguments that these deaths occurred in people who were very sick and their prognosis was not good in any event. The reported deaths today is 96 equivalent to over 600 when related to the UK pop. Wherever these deaths come from the rate looks to be unacceptable. Sweden's government is de facto a less directive based system than ours and defers to expert advice. There have been some protests, particularly in Stockholm, which is unusual. As an exporting economy it must be hurting from the impact on Europe and my point was that if their covid strategy is wrong the damage to the economy could be worse in the long run.

Despite Sweden projecting itself as a modern socialist society with intellectual rigour at the forefront of its decision making it has not dealt with the covid crisis well. Daily deaths, when comparing the population size with the UK, are running at 500-600. This is going to have a serious impact on the economy and if the government has to resort to a lockdown at this late stage it would be catastrophic. I think they will have to inflate the economy to deflect social unrest and a more marked shift to the right.

Look at the share charts-peaks and troughs but the underlying direction is up. A week in shares is no time at all. We are all suffering salami slicing at the mo. If you think it is a good share with positive news to come then hold on, if not then sell. ATB

We should get results of the 15 study soon as trails were continuing over the winter virus season which I assume is now over.

7.418m shares is their total ownership after the purchase representing 4.61% of the co. We don't know the exact figure before purchase but assume it was pretty close to 3% so yes the purchase was in the region of 2.58m shares
