NM mentioned Sumitomo (I think) at one point during the presentation. Something along the lines of “the bornite would have Sumitomo frothing” or something like that! Did NM not do a deal with them in the past?

Just excited Ship that this is all starting to come together. Been here for a long long time and always been confident that SolGold would go on to greater things or be bought out completely! Will be very interesting to see the updated MRE and PEA hopefully before year end

Wow! What a great presentation! If BHP has any sense they should be offering £5B and take out SolGold completely! NM hinted at the end estimated cost for developing Alpala around £2-3B. £7B outlay for potentially £$90B reserves in Alpala only, not Cascabel, not the other tenements Alpala only, mental!

Thanks for confirming Sav. Interesting. Cornerstone would be wanting a hefty premium! Could be a good option for them though. Sell Solg shares at healthy profit and some of that money could be used to pay their contribution to development costs and still hold their 15% on Ensa so if it did go to production they would be entitled to 15% profits from Ensa ongoing. Hmmm....

I wonder if BHP are in discussions with Cornerstone to purchase their 10% holding in Solg. After almost 18 months of the spin off being proposed then cancelled the day after BHP buy 6% seems a bit fishy to me. I don’t think BHP would be interested in buying Cornerstone outright but certainly their 10% holding must be of interest to them as they know Cornerstone are willing sellers at the right price. The question is do Solg have first refusal on Cornerstones Solg shares or is it only on the 15% of Ensa held by Cornerstone!?

Does anyone think NM’s strategy will now change due to BHP being shareholders? Their buy into Solg was not discussed with the board and came out of nowhere! I don’t think it was part of the plan and with NM saying they have advisors in place to prevent a hostile takeover I’m not convinced there will be a three way split with NM, Solg and BHP! Considering the cheeky offer BHP proposed 2 years ago I think they want Cascabel all to themselves and the 6% holding won’t stop there and another low ball offer is in the offing!

Think we have to remember that BHP buying Guyana shares came out of the blue. This wasn’t orchestrated by NM and Solg or so says NM!

For Ensa Columbo or SolGold complete? Think £1.7B for the whole company would be a bargain!!

....is futile (hopefully!) Think we need some news to help us push through the 29p barrier. Not complaining been a great few days and many more to come over the next couple of months. Only around 1 more month of drilling to complete the Alpala drilling campaign then MRE update before year end!

Solg up 3.4% Cornerstone down 10%!!

Hey Broke, not sure if it’s relevant or not but BHP purchase has thrown the cats amongst the pidgeons and there’s no way they are going to hold only a 6.1% holding. They have bigger plans I’m sure “are the sharks circling etc etc”.

I read that earlier today but what I’m not 100% sure about if there’s a buy order for the equivalent of 4% do they announce as each 1% if hit or when the order is complete taking them to 10%? This is pure speculation obviously and might not be even happening in the background but fun to speculate!

I’ve really know idea to be honest! Normally every 1% threshold there should be a notification but my question was if there’s an order for say 4% would they have to notify at every 1% or only when the order was complete?

There’s currently around 40% free float on the open market? BHP could be buying on the market which would push up the SP. They wouldn’t put in an order for a 100m shares surely they could just continue buying crossing notification thresholds as they went?

BHP could now be furiously building a state buying on the open market. For another 4% holding at current SP this would only cost them around £25m for 68m shares or is my maths way off!?

Given SolGold hold 77 tenements albeit unexplored there’s no hope in hell that the board will sell the whole company for 68p! For Alpala maybe but SolGold as a company for 68p?! No way!
