This is playing out in a very strong pattern imo.
Just did a bit of scribbling on a chart to illustrate:

The main reason this is a potential blockbuster stock is nothing to do with the coronavirus imo (that's just a bonus it can potentially help with).

As I was discussing elsewhere, I think one of the key things to remember is:
- doctors can now test for viruses (better machines exist - such as the filmarray SNG are using)
- One of the biggest problems in the NHS (and everywhere else) is over-prescribing antibiotics regularly, for virus related things, that antibiotics will do nothing for

Therefore:
- The market for a broad spectrum anti-viral like this is massive
- It helps reduce one of the biggest problems in world health (antibiotic resistance) by reducing the prescription of anti-biotics to only those conditions it can help with
- It will improve the outcome for patients (having something that actually treats their problem rather than something that's no better than a placebo for their virus - antibiotics)

If it works....sounds like a bit of a no-brainer to any GP/doctor/NHS Trust/Govt doesn't it?

SGD27 - There are various UK and US patents. I believe the short answer to your question is it's primarily method related (i.e. inhalation).
Put it this way....it was well enough protected for Astra-Zeneca to previously commit to a deal with over $225m of milestones.

Yeah, I've held for a long time because I believe this is worth way more than this, and will be worth a lot lot more if trial results are good (as I expect them to be).
HOWEVER.....as I was just observing elsewhere, the buying is so strong into each pull-back, it does makes me wonder if it's not just a recovery, but instead perhaps it's cheeky insider buying as a result of trial success, or perhaps a partnering deal with major pharma sealed, or even a takeover by major pharma, and so on and so forth. They certainly seem to be waiting less time after each rise, before resuming buying, as if they know of likely impending news.

One of the reasons I like this company is they don't just spout b*ll**** promotional RNSs (even if there may well be increasing demand/opportunity for their drug).

As expected, over 150k of buys this morning, mopping up all the smaller recent PI sells who get cold feet if it stops rising for longer than two seconds ;)

Looks like the same old pattern, headline readers thinking this is bad news, and the more savvy ones with the larger trades, are continuing to buy up their smaller sells.

Exactly, and the strong rise here recently suggests there's appetite to get the shares here locked down....
The price here spikes with even small amounts of on-market buying.
Hence my recent speculation about all the previous large backers here and they'll probably get their chance to do it now (along with all other biotech investors).
Will be good to finally get that (cheeky little) monkey off our backs.

Might start to finally see some action now, and things drawing to a close, now WG have lost their exclusivity.

I think you might be overthinking the 30% (and concert party) aspect.
If Licht/Griffiths took half of the 19.5% each - both would still be under the threshold by a reasonable margin - unless there's reason to believe they're linked.
Speculating on their rationale, they may well feel they've got a better chance buying a big block from Link Fund, rather than on the open market, where the price rises fast, and have been holding fire until that situation resolves itself. By all accounts WG Partners had an exclusivity period expiring at the end of Jan for the Woodford bioscience stocks (no word yet on whether that's lapsed, been extended, or a transaction is concluding). If WG can't raise the money for the deal then they might be hoping to swoop.
We're in a very interesting period now with drug news possible at any moment and the above situation potentially resolved at any moment :)

I thought I'd have a look back at the price action here over a longer term to see if there was anything interesting.
On, the one hand this is a statement of the obvious, but the fortunes here tally almost exactly with the Woodford debacle.
However the detail is perhaps more significant, if you cross-reference with every holdings RNS in the past few years, and you can see the superstar investors, like Leonard Licht and Richard Griffiths, both significantly, and repeatedly, increased their stakes in SNG, over a long period (all the way through 2017 and 2018). All at much higher prices than this.
That's not particularly significant, although a great vote of confidence, however this buying comes to a halt in late 2018, a few months before all the Woodford stories start breaking more widely (Feb 2019) in particular. If anyone would have heard/known about/spotted impending Woodford problems, before the wider-market, it's probably them.
The price then heads south after Feb 2019, with neither buying, and Woodford selling a chunk of millions, before it's transferred to Link Fund Solutions.
Also significant, imo, is they've retained the stakes they've built up, and as far as we know (no holdings RNSs), not sold any of the the stakes they built up.
Therefore, if WG Partners haven't taken the SNG stake, you might expect one or both of these two, to make an offer for his holdings.

Probably. Delayed by a day. Still appears to be the same pattern. Hold to try to gather remaining potential sellers before moving on. Encouragingly little selling after each rise. I remember the last time when this went from 13p to nearly 30p in no time. Feeling very much like those times again where the free float is next to nothing.

If I’m honest I would say it’s impossible to tell.
However my personal opinion is almost all are delayed buys.
I don’t believe the rise would have held at any point, repeatedly, and advanced for further, if they weren’t.
Looks like another big buy after close mopping up all the trader sells.
I suspect us plebs are just watching the powers that be taking the remaining float, before we come back to some kind of level where any of us think twice about being in, which is a good way away ;)
(The best thing about this comment is I’m probably talking to a grand total of about five PIs maximum)
