RE: Why I think RNS is due!15 Sep 2021 10:51
I've spoken to Mark a few times.
I have to say that he does know the market well, knows what makes the AIM tick (we've discussed a few stocks and their respective market behaviours), and I think he'd welcome the opportunity to talk to shareholders himself.
We should send in a question or two, specifically for him, and see what he has to say. He can probably answer questions about how they see the SP changing over the coming months, and what might be the primary drivers of that (external investment versus legacy compounds etc).
I know we are all getting a bit hacked off with the lack of newsflow. On the shareholder side, I have to say; we’ve only had a couple of patent updates, a dropped asset, and a clean set of accounts this year, IIRC, to go on. If you didn’t know the company well, let’s face it, you wouldn’t touch VAL with a bargepole, based upon publicly disseminated information.
But I still maintain that we have a MCap comparable to a hypothetical start-up. If you look at a Company like BiVitriX (new floatation; 13M MCap), it has one or to extremely early-stage TAs, with a need for cash to develop. This would essentially be VAL, as soon as they can get 2 or 3 new assets in-licensed (providing they do it right, with a decent ownership %). I’d trust VALs expertise to develop these, more than a lot of groups, if I’m honest. So, if and when that happens, we can assume that 201 and 301 in particular have no theoretical value. Therefore, the investment is still a no brainer for me.
And Iceman is correct IMO. The staff are competent and dedicated. You simply are not that busy in pharma, if you’re not going to deliver. Doesn’t happen.
Having said that, there’s only so long that people like me can defend this case scenario, and I’m waiting for the management team to come out of the blocks proper, and make some exciting representation for themselves, without the need for long-term loyal shareholders, who are now struggling, to shore up the SP for themselves.
