One thing of significance with the construction completion may be that the building is now handed over and rents become payable - I’m not clear on the contractual terms but the outgoings may have just increased somewhat.
The RNS states that the hall length is 156m. That seems excessive as I don’t remember seeing it going under neighbouring streets. Even doubled up on itself, that would likely be beyond the max length of the plot. Let’s hope they haven’t missed a decimal point in the financial figures!
Tiny volume low sp sells with higher volume higher sp sells today. Yesterday saw the spread suddenly jump to make a larger purchase look like a sell late on. Harry doing a director buy. I'm a muggins that came into this following a previous director buy from Harry and then it was all downhill thereafter. I've done the same again - double muggins. I'm working on, maybe a false, assumption that Harry is not a muggins. Would he really blow the family silver if he wasn't sure this had bottomed out? No insider dealing, I presume, as he has made it clear that all should be signed, sealed and paid up imminently. Also detect an excess of doom mongers that may be affecting some pi's.
Maybe worth the Ethiopians putting out a positive message......
I probably still have the rose-tinted on, but still suspect it is not wise to be seen to have pots of money when the government has run out! Obviously lack of money in system would be affecting potential transactions over the tills, but, have they postponed/delayed their store opening program? No news on that so spending to reduce observable profits and continue growth looks positive.
Could it be a case of ‘do as I say not as I do’ with a board advising not to invest?
.....but the Chairman bought £30k worth. He probably has a closer finger on the pulse of what is actually going on in Zambia and the company!
I’m not sure it will be obvious when this project will get a clear go-ahead.
These guys have got their ‘factory produced’ proton systems into action a couple of years ahead of us. This may have been the reason for making the market believe the Light system was imminently deliverable until it became obvious it wasn’t. It looks like the pricing is not too different either at £25m a pop rather than the £100m’s required for the older gen equipment. We may have an advantage on the scaleability with more/less modules but our key advantage may well be the greater controllability and quality of proton delivery.
I do agree though that the barriers are now down and a huge market for proton machines is opening up which should be great for us even if we do have some competition
The problem with increasing scale and energy density is that the battery gets closer to a bomb unless the technology can magically cope with an unplanned rapid release of all the energy.
Would be good if such an rns actually clearly stated the news rather than be as clear as mud! I have a small bet with Spreadex but a tiny fraction of this. Proper news about finance due this week so someone may have insider knowledge - will that news make the share plummet/soar so they can make a capital gains free mint whilst holding onto their chunk of shares
That looks like construction effectively done well within the outer range of the timeframe they gave. The fit-out at up to 52 weeks puts them missing the H1 2019 target for installation ready. Need an update on Daresbury testing set-up to see if that is likely to match with a tested machine ready for installation - that feels dodgy to me. No recent update on manufacture either - are we putting a prototype into Harley or the first of series manufacture?
Of course the key info we all want is that they have proven technology with all systems working together, or as a minimum tech announcement that they have achieved proven proton speeds for surface tumours.
Seems the lower price for the ‘games’ has been breached. Is it going to continue down or will the funding come in first?
Nothing new in that news - just old news collated in a report.
Key next step is to achieve proton speeds that can be sold as an effective treatment. That should then properly eliminate technology risk that all we have is an expensive machine that goes ping. Regulatory approval obviously also required but that should be quicker than some imagine as it appears proton beamers just reference equivalent treatments by competitors. Proton speed achievement may trigger some sales, but I suspect regulatory approval, and full speed, will definitely bring a larger wave of projects keen to get on the waiting list.
My prediction is next sp jump on basic speed achievement - projected within a month?? Size of jump dependent on whether any sales triggered. Should see us over 60 but not much more without associated sales.
Big jumps will be on full speed achievement and regulatory approval, that will almost certainly trigger a healthy order book. Not for a couple of years for this is my guess.
'Primarily' - where would a reasonable shareholder accept a split of spending of the fund raise, 60:40; 70:30 or some other ratio? I see no problem with them investing internally with some of the cash if that would give a better return, so long as they are primarily seeking to spend on good value acquisitions. I would not have felt misled.
Can anyone remind me what the deadline was for construction start determined by the seasonal weather in Ethiopia? I seem to remember for the last few years being told of a need to get going before the weather turned at around this time of year??
Just woke up with a really simple thought on the mystery US corporation. If the quantum dots are simply used in a coating on a windshield, they could be optimised for night vision or UV transmission and give an auto manufacturer a straightforward extra cost option. Too many possibilities open up with these dots and not many will be commercial but not difficult to see that a hit could be massive
I see everyone talking about making millions of sensors and Lidars. Not sure I have seen Lidars mentioned by the company? I was thinking that the medical use of identifying cancer cells still counts as sensors and is more likely from the raw messages and patent subjects associated with the company. Please shout me down if there is an unambiguous statement that contradicts this!
Yes - got my sums wrong - should give up this investing lark if I make such simple errors! This lark however seems more about guessing whether the market is over or under valued and my point was that Harry has a better idea than the rest of us and that move looked more like an action associated with a lowest sp anticipating a rise, than of someone dumping shares to rescue some cash before Armageddon
Looks like about £15000 moved from a company to a pension. My take is that it has been done to realise losses in a company and to make all the capital gains in a protected tax free pension. Only small portion of totals so may not be significant. May signal that Harry thinks the share has bottomed?

Not sure if this has been picked up already. Looks like fluorescent ends to clever cancer zapping chemicals may be a lucrative market
