New money man from CDC coming in. Does that mean unlimited financial backing for purchase of Zimbabwean farms now Mugabe on his way out?
There is an explanation for the big sells and buys over the last few weeks. Seems to have been between willing seller/buyer as no move in share price. Presumably buyer has remained below radar %age?? Who is the buyer?
Popped by the site this morning. No change visible from front other than optical cables being laid along whole of Harley St. A direct neighbour was complaining about construction noise which I take as a good sign! At the rear, the piling rigs are active but not clear whether they have done much under the main building.
So the imf have not been fooled by Zambian Gov hiding of debt. Maybe the government, in buying the palm farm, was trying to bolster the books by buying an asset cheap and putting it on their register at a much higher valuation. Can then be seen both as a win for Zambeef (Focus and cash) and the government (hides excess spending and keeps poor region stable). Blinder by Zambeef if they timed the deal to coincide with pressure from imf. Pure speculation of course and they would have needed hundreds of equivalent deals to get near the dodgy hidden country debts in the billions
Huge sales at the moment with occasional big buy. This is abnormal - we should be expecting an rns as the seller must be a major investor. Possibly also the buyer.... could this be the Zambian government raiding the pension piggy bank?
Updates expected on further SCDTL modules integrated, commissioning of patient positioning chair. I hope to eyeball the Harley Street basement dig but that is a side show. So all that is expected and probably not enough to account for recent shift. Must be some proper financing that has been achieved in my opinion or just herd spoofing ...
Crop diseases should be all part of farming. Some years you lose, some years your competitors get the diseases and you win. The added value stream should keep on rolling depending on the Kwachas in the pocket. The dirty politics is ongoing and unless resolved in next year or so, will mean Zambia may go the way of Zimbabwe. Big players manoeuvring with the US putting some muscle in their embassy. China heavily involved and obviously UK as old colonial. With Brazil big in meat, and Indians being accused of state capture, South African opposition showing allegiance to Zambian opposition, the the only missing big player from the West or BRICS appears to be Russia. The Israelis, Emiratis, Nigerians and Saudis are in the mix too for good measure!
You made me visit the corporate website. While pottering about I read some of the Directors’ profiles. One is involved in implantable devices for arrhythmia heart problems and another deep into devices for diabetics. This got me thinking that a real big business could be made out of weekly disposable sensors that monitor life threatening medical conditions. Throwaway device at say £500 per week does not sound too far fetched using Sphere technology. Daily disposable contact lenses were not cheap too start with. Should be easy to link up a device to an Apple Watch say for wireless connectivity and boom we have a stratospherically valuable business that could push Apple into the trillions.
Just gone private according to the rns
......you had the opportunity to get in on an early stage medical sensor, prior to ipo, that links up to the internet of everything, with no near competitor, already with regulatory approval in a major market, repeat orders from leading teaching hospitals, and promised 5xcapitalisation, investment from a respected investor at 5 times the price you are being offered for shares.......is that an offer from a Nigerian Prince?
My view is that Odds of Sphere coming out of this with a decent sale of the technology are maybe around 50:50. Add in the chance that PIs may be shafted/diluted to hell and maybe the odds a good adjustment. What price will this come out at? My guess is that Woodford would not be playing for small meat and I would expect us to reappear at 50p share remembering Woodford has an average maybe 10-20 times current prices So maybe a 5:1 chance of 100:1 gains. Another way to look at it is via the market capitalisation, currently less than a million. I've seen mention that institutions don't touch healthcare companies at less than £100m which could be Ws reappearance level. Loads of buried investment in a tech with huge barriers going for a few hundred grand - got to be a bargain but high risk too. I'm in for a nice round figure and will forget about and maybe have a nice retirement creating prezzie in 5 years time
This looks like a message ending the restructuring and forward into profits
Deta were already selling lw stuff. Not sure this is news. The real news is tomorrow - how much do Apple push all the accessories to HomeKit with their new gadgets released tomorrow??
Maybe you will have to come back here for your nattering about footie? The Zambians love the game and what will you do all day when the other place delists?!
That is the crock of sh. It. Various news reports were suggesting this was a politically linked transaction which is my biggest concern. The minister of finance was about to be fired for being too good??! And this deal takes place day before the action???? Any link to the dirty politics is not good either way. My view is that this is the company bunkering down, get a big load of cash out of the country and possibly become neutral on cash/debts in foreign currency. Keep the foreign debt payments up as they come off operating profits and minimise tax payments to a possibly illegitimate government with their hands in the till. Why keep 10% - another big question. Obviously government are not farmers so Zambeef still managing facility and will also get to know if any onward sale taking place. There is also I believe a big political figure with a neighbouring farm of palms. It's the weaving with politics I don't like as we have seen before with the formaldehyde scare and the zamanita tax demand. Otherwise a great deal for company at current share price. If only they could sell those other farms at list price, we would have recovered the market capitalisation with tiny loss of current business.
......we suddenly went back to where we were a month or so ago and you couldn't buy or sell more than a few thousand at a time? How would all these newbies offload their millions?
Got my average down to less than the offer. Largely on trust that woody and Wales would damage their reputations for little reward if they shaft us hangers on.
For my 12p shares this morning, a non-core part has just been sold off for 4p cash. Apart from the profit warning that is a bit of a repeat, and the loss of a 'potential' revenue source, this may not be too bad. Can someone insult my maths please?
We are basically where we were a year ago waiting for the end of the rainy season. Hopefully everything is now highly tuned and ready to fly out of the blocks
Probably more of a moron here. However if you get a whizz.kid over with Silicon Valley contacts, get rid of the staid Europeans, then let this fly as a private co, ruthlessly getting rid of non-performers .....the product repackaged for far wider market should easily be a winner with a large moat. I have always thought it an extreme niche market to just go for 'special' cases in intensive care. Now Silicon Valley have got their hands on the hard won tech, you could maybe see this going the way of ARM . Patient Capital or what - it's almost 40 years since I bought the pre-cursor product to ARM and I still have my precious little Acorn computer that is now a rare 'almost' antique. I expect Sphere technology to be embedded somewhere on the future cyborgs.....yes......another ranting pi on this soon to be lost board...
