The best research anyone could do on this company is to pop down to Maplin and buy a few of their products. Always available direct on eBay and in my local electric distributor. Recommend getting a set of plug-in power switches with a remote. Use them for some feature table lights around your living room - you know the annoying ones your wife insists on for ambient lighting but that you have to fiddle with to switch on and off - annoys the hell out of me!! Once you have those and a central controller linked to your wifi hub, you can then play with the lights through your phone. The key to this link up with Google/Amazon/Apple is the networking effect. If you have a new toy (new voice activated assistant) you want to play with it. People will look for things to do in their home so why not buy a few light switches to tell Alexa to turn off those f...ing lights. Lightwave are the most visible and available devices in the UK. They used to be more visible under Siemens branding in B&Q but loads of technical probs and returns seem to have ended that. I have invested in a few devices to better understand my investment. Techie problems are a big turn-off and they have not solved all issues in the stuff that I have. That is my concern - all the marketing in the world will make you swiftly broke if it leads to sales that get returned. Home automation even at the cheap end is not yet throwaway money. Apple HomeKit release is the next market. Can they also get in on the act with the next iPhone release? Or the release of the Siri assistant. When is the Hub 2 coming out? Will Hub 2 work with existing set-ups or do people have to invest in a whole load of new devices with AIM chips? Lots of questions that need to have been thought through with their business strategy. Could be big if new md has strategy that works. Could easily flop if not. Speculative still. But do play with their toys and annoy the other half!!

I first bought this one when an RNS came out saying they were working with Apple. That was a fizzle that got a small rise followed by a long downward trend. Apple appear to have sent LWRF back to the drawing board to make their system more secure/compatible and basically probably ditch the thing that makes Lightwave what it does on the tin - RF! Apple don't appear to like having other people's control boxes around to mess up a tight security solution. My thinking is that they are pushing for a fully encrypted, AIM chip based, totally reliable home automation. I did my main college degree project on a home automation project, and remember watching 'Some mothers do 'ave 'em' automated home back in the seventies. Key thing in this sector is to just work reliably and simply and convince the 'wife'. Lightwave achieve some of this and beat the expensive systems but my experience is that they are not quite reliable enough to crack the ordinary mass-market and expand beyond 'geeks'. There may be a bit of a buzz with this initially but when the proverbial kettle takes all day to be switched on, then it will all get dumped. Anyway, I do expect this to be properly cracked one day and hope to be around when we actually get there. I am hanging around for the Apple solution as I expect they are aiming to achieve a level of excellence that may mean I don't have to rewire my home with every year's next big thing. FYI, I made quite a killing this morning catching the RNS and then selling out at the peak when I detected no sign of pro-level purchases coming in. I expect this to be fashionable for a couple of days and then to drift back to 16 or so. Going too early/quickly with unfit products could easily lead to disappointed consumers badmouthing the products and high level returns. That would cripple this business. I have not been impressed by the software (and associated bugs) from Lightwave - no sign of any sense of simplicity and reliability being a focus. The light switches are the best product but other products such as the radiator valves are just mad/bad in so many ways. You have to set the time to work on Chinese days - day changes at 6am so try getting your head around heating the house ready for an early rise....The rad valves also chew through batteries and make a racket that will wake you up before it is safe to get out of your cosy bed. I see this boom today as fired by private investors who think Google means the world. Lightwave are a tiny British company mainly focussed on the UK alone. As a tiny company they are making lots of tiny company mistakes and have not got the resources to keep pace with the market they had a lead in. They need a Steve Jobs type to scream at them to get their aesthetics and quality right, and to get that right before all the glossy marketing means they under-deliver like a Sinclair. Paying 30p for shares that can be bought for 22p on open market. There must be good news on the way

No half year trading update as yet. Looking back a in the RNS record, there is little pattern to predict timings. The full year appears quite consistent with a trading update exactly at year end and results 8 weeks later. There appears to have been some reasons (rainbow/zamanita) why half years may have been delayed a couple of times, but updates have also occurred exactly at the end of the half year, but also much later. My best guess is that we may get an update/notice next week as there does not appear to be anything special happening this year. I am now with John's prediction although I've left my betting to the home straight!!

If cold hard cash won't raise the SP then distribution of that cash in the form of dividends surely will. Expect the results to show decent profits, rising turnover, income from new markets, and stonking financial ratios compared to the rest of the market. Starting to declare a dividend has been talked about. Small one would establish the intent. Only downside I see, is the political direction internally. That could explode to the downside but would likely take a long period before it affected the business. Worst case short-term would be state of emergency that restricts distribution. Best case is that rule of law wins over police state and neighbour Mugabe goes off to argue with St Peter over the colour of the clouds!

So Bracknor financing appears to be being used at the cash burn rate. £1.3m every two months. Time to re-evaluate my speculation. My wife prefers tall blond strangers so feel safer with my crystal ball gazing!

I've just been analysing the financing for my own interest. Rough reckoning suggests to me that with the Bracknor initial tranche of £1.3m and the other £3m more recently announced and the burn rate, the next 6 months is financed without a problem. Bracknor have converted £700,000 so far of the initial £1.3m but have they sold....?? We probably won't find that out until further tranches of £1.3m are taken by AVO and then Bracknor converts (or does not) to trigger (or not) a significant shareholding. If the more recent funding option of taking an extra £2m is taken up then we are likely through the rest of this year without any further Bracknot dipping required. I would be surprised if we cannot get some significant technical advance in that period that will bring back credibility of delivery. Harley St should also be past any critical unforeseen stages. Further Bracknor tranches are therefore likely to be more favourable against a higher share price. My take on this is that the taking of the Bracknor remaining tranches up to the minimum of £13m will likely be end-loaded when a much higher share price is relevant. I still suspect that Dubai based Bracknor may be actually holding onto their shares but no-one except an insider can know for sure as they are unlikely to trigger a significant holding rns especially if I am right about the end-loading. So what is happening? Directors happily picking up cheap shares at scared market prices. Directors seem to have mopped up all the Bracknor shares that have converted, that's if they have been sold by Bracknor, or else from a spooked market. Directors should be aware that significant technical delivery will take place over next 9 months making the sp bargain basement. Directors appear to have turned the delays to their advantage. The machine will get delivered, scaredy cats in the market have sold out at a loss, some directors have a bigger share of the pie, and Dubai Healthcare City is my best guess as an early commercial sale or two. Someone tell me where my speculation is going wrong please!! DYOR or speculate madly like myself!!

I am assuming mid-May like last year. However previous years have had an update on the last day of the period. If you split the difference then you may be right..... Should be a good one whatever as I am not aware of any negative factors this time around. The P/E should be outstanding.

With market capitalisation = price of one machine and having all the bits for one machine in place in the test lab, this looks ridiculously undervalued. They would be complete idiots to run out of money now and I don't think they are.... Agree that Harley Street is a side show and has building risks which are all on Howard de Walden Estate. Pebble Mill is an alternate. Dubai would knock up a facility in the desert in no time if necessary. Housing the first one and getting regulatory approval should not be big issues. What is most important is that they build the prototype and de-snag it promptly. Have they got the right people with the balance of urgency and thoroughness necessary to get this thing going? It does look top heavy on 'experts' and I'm wondering whether they have actually got the practical guys as well. In my opinion they should forget about pushing the image and spend more time on actual delivery of significant advances in the machine build.

Does 0.5% dilution justify a 10% drop in s.p.? I have not seen any RNS recently regarding any of the large holders selling out. My top-up today was shown as a sale so as usual the buys v sales on aim are a load of rubbish. Some large figures also went through at the same price as 'sales'?? My view on this is that the PIs are being softened up and dropped off. We just need one further announcement of a significant development stage achieved, maybe even achievement of full speed, and then price should rocket opening the door to another placement. I still reckon that Bracknor being Dubai based will be in this to pick up as many shares as cheaply as possible but not necessarily in order to dump.

Looks more like a transfer to me with a few of about £1500 to the broker. If both were sells we should expect an rns as that would be a significant change of percentage ownership. Likely timed to take advantage if the end of uk tax year.

I hear what people are saying about Bracknor but there is one word that makes me see this different: Dubai. They need something like the LIGHT system there and what better way to get in early and potentially control any competition from other service providers than to build up a 30% stake. Peanuts investment for Dubai Healthcare City and what is to stop other 'independent' Dubai based investors taking this beyond? Why would Bracknor cash in their shares?

Taken my average down to the recent offer price. Directors and the sophisticated far eastern investor were hungry at that level just a few months ago. Has someone just changed the laws of physics? Expect the Directors to be back in this as soon as any closed period is cleared.

This RNS is carefully worded not to implicate. Also all this deramping and market manipulation is fairly blatant. All sides seem to be being 'naughty' but trying to not be too blatant. Clearly no regulator with any teeth operating on AIM so we all have to make our own judgements I see this significant as a medic bumbling in the shark infested waters of finance. On the other hand, people wasting their time posting lots of negative opinions does not make sense unless they seek to benefit in some way. The choice is whether to believe the sharks are right and AVO is going down with profits to be made from shorting or they are seeking to buy in at bargain basement prices. All the sharks are talking down but all the scientists are buying. Choose one to believe!
