For clarification to those who believe @avacta pipeline is decades away:
Let's highlight the obvious first - the current Covid-19 LFT is where focus is atm & is where they're going to make substantial revenue near term. Undoubtedly the revenue gained from sales will push forward other trials & the exposure gained will place @avacta firmly on the i Diagnostics map.
Covid-19 aside, it's imperative to understand that @avacta has a Platform Technology which can/will be used for a multitude of treatments.
Alastair has made it clear that it would be impossible to bring so many products to market on their own, hence why they've secured numerous collaborations, JVs, exclusivity agreements with multi £bn companies who are targeting huge markets.
Take the JV with Daewoong for example - using their tech & our tech, they're aiming to create treatments for autoimmune / inflammatory diseases, diabetes, chrones disease etc. The market they're targeting is around £160bn.
@avacta have exciting partnerships with the likes of Astrea, LG Chem, Moderna, Point Biopharma, ADC Therapeutics, Bach Biosciences and Onco Sec.
Each partnership could return @avacta massive royalties. Take their partnership with LG Chem for example - the royalties are potentially worth £400m.
This is not about @avacta bringing their own products to market, it's about allowing major players to use our platform technology to do so, allowing @avacta to bring in royalties.
With some big named pharmas on the table, it's inevitable that some of those products will make it to market.
Of course, at any point, @avacta may be swallowed up by a major player. Take Thermofisher for example, they purchased Qiagen for $10.1bn - a diagnostics company who were developing a covid test.
When you invest in Biotech stocks, you're typically investing in 'potential'. Each & every one comes with risk, no different from investing in a mining explorer where you're investing in the potential of them striking big paydirt.
@avct have many shots on goal & only need to score once to be transformational. It just so happens that the LFT is at the penalty spot & there's no keeper ?..... let's hope Alastair can kick ?
