Just to be pedantic, the 'flu virus wasn't identified until 1933 - but 'flu has been around for centuries. We have records going back to the 12th century.

But let's be clear: Covid is not the same as, or simply a version of, the 'flu.

I think the information is potentially being misinterpreted/misread by a number of people and unwarranted conclusions jumped to.

The simple facts are:

- there are a number of antigen LFTs currently being tested by PHE at Porton Down. We do not know (but I would suggest can reasonably assume) that the Mologic antigen LFT is amongst them.

- there are different phases of the PHE trials. We do not know what phase of the trial the Mologic antigen LFT (if it is being tested) is at.

- to date, five of those antigen LFTs have been tested against the new variant. Those LFTs appear to be the ones which are furthest along in the testing process.

- we do not know whether other LFT are being/will be tested against the new variant and/or when this might happen in future. I think it is a reasonable assumption to believe that further LFTs will be tested against this new variant (and any other variants which may emerge).

The simple fact is, we can't know for sure until such time as information is formally published on official sites. I think trying to impugn the motives of long term holders is unhelpful and scorn should be reserved for the very obvious trolls that have a nasty habit of visiting to stir up trouble.

All I will say is that, having confidence in my research, I shall continue to hold my ODX holding, and to add to it when the price is right.

The really telling bit is the rest of that quote, which you omitted:

Stocks won't be delivered until Spring at the earliest and, even with a vaccine, testing will still be required on a large scale. We haven't even started really.

We've covered this off a number of times. There are no clinical risk to vaccinating someone with antibodies. The costs involved in doing pre-vaccination testing (which are not just the costs of the test but the admin etc. involved in managing) will easily outweigh the marginal savings you might get in vaccine used.

There is an argument for testing before providing booster shots - but we need to remember that the AbC19 test is indicative rather than quantitative - it will show whether or not you have antibodies but not at what level.

As I understand it, a quantitative test is being developed but that is most likely to be used for cohort sample surveillance rather than for every patient.

I think part of the issue with the Visitect Triple Antibody test is that there were effectively restrictions put on its use in the UK by MHRA and these have only relatively recently been removed. I'd expect to see domestic sales picking up in the coming weeks and months.

This virus was first identified in China. There is no definitive evidence as to where it originated.

HMG have reimbursed Mologic for the costs of developing their manufacturing capacity, and provided an option for purchase of their tests.* This is separate from the relationship Mologic has with ODX who, once TT and UKCA/CE remarking is complete, will manufacture and sell under the ODX Visitect brand.

*What is not clear is what this investment relates to from an HMG perspective. HMG is part of the international effort to ensure that LMI countries have access to testing and vaccines. It may that this investment and potential purchasing relates to those obligations, rather than any domestic testing plans.
